| With the increasing tension of energy issues, solar energy plays an indispensable role in the energy industry with its own advantages.Solar photovoltaic industry,as a part of the solar energy industry chain,is attracting more and more attention. The research on solar photovoltaic industry at home and abroad is also constantly updated and improved. As a knowledge-intensive industry, the photovoltaic industry needs to rely on its own technology to gain competitive advantages, rather than simply relying on financial strength. This means that listed photovoltaic companies need to carry out technology research and development through their employees to gain competitive advantages. At present, scholars have studied and discussed the relationship between human capital investment and enterprise performance based on different industries, but have not considered the special background of photovoltaic industry. At the same time,it is worth our careful consideration to figure out exactly what kind of investment the listed photovoltaic companies should make to their employees, which aspects they should invest more in,which aspects they should invest less in,and which aspects of investment do not affect the competitiveness of enterprises. The solar photovoltaic industry should pay attention to the impact of human capital investment on the competitiveness of enterprises,so as to improve their competitiveness in terms of talent investment. The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between human capital investment and enterprise competitiveness in China’s listed solar photovoltaic industry.Firstly, the literature related to the main concepts of this paper is sorted out and the literature on human capital investment, enterprise competitiveness and the relationship between them is discussed.Secondly, according to the financial annual reports of each enterprise, the humancapital investment is measured by four indexes, such as per capita training cost, per capita salary, per capita welfare and so on.Then, based on previous studies and combined with the characteristics of the solar photovoltaic industry,we select 12 indicators, such as the turnover rate of total assets, the liquidity ratio, and the proportion of people with master’s degree to weigh the competitiveness of enterprises.Based on the data of 240 samples of 48 listed companies in the solar photovoltaic industry from 2014 to 2018,factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis are carried out on the quantitative relationship between them, and the relationship between human capital investment and enterprise competitiveness of listed companies in the solar photovoltaic industry in China is obtained. It is found that the increase of salary has a positive effect on the improvement of competitiveness of listed companies in the photovoltaic industry, and a significant positive effect on competitiveness(lag period).More welfare payment has a significant positive effect on the competitiveness of enterprises. The influence of enterprises’ training investment on the competitiveness of listed photovoltaic companies is not significant. In the aspect of five social insurance and one housing fund investment,it has no significant influence on its competitiveness, and no significant influence on its competitiveness(lag period).Through these research conclusions, this paper puts forward several management suggestions and inspirations related to human capital investment for solar photovoltaic enterprises. |
