UAV Ad Hoc Network(UANET)is a self-organizing network constructed with multiple UAVs as network nodes, which is a type of Mobile Ad Hoc Network(MANET).Compared with the traditional self-organizing network, the UANET has the characteristics of higher mobility, larger coverage area, and more flexible networking mode.It is widely used in rescue and disaster relief, emergency communications, military battlefields, and other environments. The Medium Access Control(MAC)protocol is a key factor affecting the performance of the UANET,which plays a vital role in reducing time delay between network nodes, improving channel utilization, system throughput, and service delivery rate.Therefore,in-depth research on the media access control protocol technology of the UANET can improve the performance of the entire UANET.This article mainly focuses on the research on the MAC protocol of the multi-layer UAV swarm network.Aiming at the performance requirements of the multi-layer UAV swarm network, combining the advantages of the traditional competitive MAC protocol and the distributed MAC protocol,a multi-layer UAV swarm network media access protocol(MUS-MAC)is proposed. The main contents are as follows:First, the super frame structure of the MUS-MAC protocol is designed, and the operation process of the protocol is explained.Combined with queuing theory modeling, the delays of the CSMA phase and the TDMA phase are analyzed, and the algorithm design is carried out on how the network enters the TDMA phase and the calculation of the length of the TDMA data frame.Secondly,a dynamic time slot allocation algorithm based on geographic location information is designed.Calculate the relative speed between the high-level UAV and the low-level UAV based on the geographic location information, determine the mobility of the UAV,and design a dynamic time slot allocation algorithm based on the priority of the business,so that it can be Meet the high mobility requirements of multi-layer UAV swarm networks.Third, the energy consumption control algorithm of the MUS-MAC protocol is designed.By improving CSMA’s binary exponential backoff algorithm, the UAV’s backoff time is reduced. At the same time, when the UAV node is in an idle state, energy consumption can be controlled by scheduled sleep mode, which solves the problem of insufficient battery life of low-level UAVs.Finally, using OPNET simulation software, the MUS-MAC protocol was modeled and simulated.By comparing the MUS-MAC protocol with the hybrid MAC protocol used in the other two UAV ad hoc networks, the performance of the three protocols in different scenarios is compared.Experimental results show that in a variety of different scenarios,MUS-MAC has excellent delivery rate and delay performance.Compared with the other two hybrid MAC protocols,it can better meet the needs of multi-layer UAV swarm networks..
