With the continuous promotion of clean energy,direct drive motors applied in the background of electric vehicles,wind power generation and ship propulsion have attracted wide attention.In all types of direct drive motors,the permanent magnet vernier motor realizes the function of low speed and large torque by the magnetic field modulation,which not only eliminates the vibration and noise caused by the gearbox,but also provides overload protection for the transmission system.Firstly,the performance of permanent magnet vernier motor with various topological structure is summarized,and the principle of permanent magnet vernier motor with different structure is analyzed.The rotor structure of permanent magnet vernier motor with permanent magnets on the rotor and salient poles on stator is complex.The stator structure of permanent magnet vernier motor with permanent magnets on the stator and salient poles on stator and rotor limits the number and amount of permanent magnet poles.Based on the permanent magnet vernier motor with permanent magnets on the stator and salient poles on stator and rotor,the topologies of new double-stator permanent magnet vernier motor and hybrid excitation double-stator vernier motor are presented to solve the problems.The finite element model of the new double-stator permanent magnet vernier motor is established.the performance of the motor is analyzed and the reasonability of the structure design of the motor is verified.The important parameters of the motor are analyzed to improve the output torque.To solve the problems of low utilization rate of permanent magnet,single excitation mode and insufficient space utilization of double-stator permanent magnet vernier motor,the finite element model of hybrid excitation double-stator vernier motor was established.The performance of the motor is analyzed and compared with the new double-stator permanent magnet vernier motor.Then,the important parameters of the motor are analyzed.Finally,the key parameters of the hybrid excitation double-stator vernier motor are optimized by taguchi.The results show that the structure of the proposed motors is reasonable.The performance of the hybrid excitation double-stator vernier motor is better than that of the new double-stator permanent magnet vernier motor.After optimization by taguchi,the average torque is higher,the torque ripple is smaller and the utilization rate of permanent magnet is higher.
