With the development of the economy and the improvement of living standards,the consumer groups of automobiles are becoming more and more mature,and the requirements for the handling stability of vehicles are becoming higher and higher.At present,most of the research on the characteristics matching of steering system at home and abroad only considers the influence of the power assisted characteristics,stiffness characteristics and friction characteristics of the steering system on the handling and stability of the whole vehicle.In addition,the accuracy of the steering system model is lower when using a virtual prototype for dynamic simulation analysis.Therefore,based on the vehicle handling stability,in order to study the matching content of steering system more comprehensively,it is very important to improve the virtual prototype model of steering system.Taking the column-type electric power steering system as the research object,the influence of the main characteristics of the steering system on the steering stability of the entire vehicle is analyzed according to the driving conditions of the vehicle’s steering stability.Based on the physical model of the steering system,the main characteristics of the steering system are analyzed in detail,and a refined ADAMS model of the steering system including the characteristics of the stiffness,clearance,friction,damping,and power assistance of the steering system is established.Combined with the steering system characteristics test method and ADAMS software,the steering system refined model simulation test method is studied,and the steering system characteristics are designed.The simulation and test results of the characteristics of the steering system are compared and analyzed to verify the accuracy of the refined model of the steering system.Based on the refined model of the steering system,a multi-body dynamics model of the entire vehicle is established.And the control simulation function of MATLAB / Simulink is used to establish the control model of steering assist.According to the selected K & C characteristic operating conditions and vehicle handling stability conditions,the simulation results of the model and the actual vehicle test results are compared to verify the accuracy of the multi-body dynamics model of the vehicle.Based on a complete vehicle model that includes a refined model of the steering system,a method for matching characteristics of an electric power steering system including steering stiffness,clearance,friction,and damping is proposed.Then,a development model is used as a research object to determine the target for the steering performance of the entire vehicle.And based on the simulation of the vehicle’s handling and stability conditions,the results of matching the characteristics of the electric power steering system are verified.The refined model of the steering system established in this paper,and the proposed method for matching the characteristics of the electric power steering system.It provides a theoretical basis for the early development of the vehicle’s electric power steering system,provides a reference for the tuning of the vehicle’s steering system in the later stage of vehicle development,and shortens the adjustment and R & D cycle.
