The hydraulic power steering system still has been one of modern vehicles’ essential equipments of in china market, even in the whole world.Compare with the pure mechanical steering system,it solve the "light" and "spirit" contradiction of vehicles Compare with the electrical power steering (EPS), the steer by wire (SBW), they are all developing vigorously. But it slightly drop behind.because the steering pump always operate when the engine is on,it dissipate the fuel.the steering oil will pollute the environment.and there are many parts in the system,increase the difficulty of layout,assembly, customer service,and so on. But the hydraulic power steering system technology is quite mature, cost is very low.Up to now, the global automobile industry development has beyond one hundred years old. Our country also has been the biggest automobile market of consumption and manufacture, but Chinese automobile enterprises are still weak in independent research and development.There is only several enterprise can research and develop automobile independently,and the level is very low for the global automobile enterprise. Therefore the outlet for Chinese automobile industry is to develop independent brand with independent key technology and improve self-development ability. In the process of automobile development, the important factors are information and virtualization, that is, the full-scale introduction of simulation techniques to realize the simulation in the entire process, the reduction of the number of testing and production cost, and the shortening of the development cycle of new cars, which altogether can ensure the improvement of enterprises’ technique and competitive strength.Match the hydraulic power steering system, it is important research the steering gear characteristic and pump characteristic.the both is so closely and affect each other.This article basing on the ADAMS software, through establishing vehicles model, solved the uncertainty from subjective feels. Simultaneously it has provided the essential data for steering gear characteristic and pump characteristic for develop the steering product.There are six parts in the dissertation. This paper includes there parts as following:The first chapter, Introduce the history of steering system, the feature separately,the superiority and inferior of the traditional hydraulic power steering system.Talk the paper significance and content. The second chapter, Calculated and analyzed the steering pump characteristic.The pump is the power for steering system,therefore, the pressure and flow will affect the match directly. With the help of the experiment and experience to define the pressure Next we had calculated pump’s working flow.Finally we through model to determine the flow decrement under high speed.Calculated and analyzed the key parameter of steering gear. The method was a new idea of mine.Firstly, through simplify the characteristic curve of reference car reasonably, and then analyzed the curve by each section to determine the influence of each section in the entire power steering system.The third chapter, analyzed the cause of steering column torque wave and how to solve it.It is necessary program to calculate and analyze the steering column torque wave, it will affect the feeling of handling and ride.The fourth chapter, Introduce the most simulation program,and what module in ADAMS.Build the vehicle model,with the help of (GB/T6323-94vehicle handling and stability test procedure),analyze the steady static circular test procedure, steering wheel angle step input, pylon course slalom test, steering wheel angle pulse input, returnability test and steering efforts test procedure,and analyze the result of simulation.The fifth chapter, depend on the result of simulation,to make the sample.With the help of Mira company skill and equipment,carry on the subject and object measurement.Although MIRA company use the ISO, we use "GB/T6323-94vehicle handling and stability test procedure ", there is a little of different.the tendency is the same.The sixth chapter, sum up the paper, and look ahead the direction of research.
