Bear Electric Appliance Case Study: Distributed Accounting System From A Blockchain Perspective

Accounting Information System(AIS),as the centre of gathering and processing accounting data/information in an company,is essential to corporate accounting management,as the utilisation of corporate accounting system directly impacts on the effectiveness and efficiency of company accounting information management.Besides,due to the fact that corporate operation system is closely connected to the AIS,the AIS reflects corporate operation.Thus,there are practical implications to studying AIS.In the case of cross-border e-commerce sector,as a primarily digitally-operated industry that heavily relies on data and information,its current AIS lacks the capacity to properly and rapidly process the available information,demanding more evolved and higher level cutting digital technology for the AIS to better accommodate the operational need of high efficiency data processing.This thesis focuses on distributed AIS from a blockchain perspective.In the case study of Bear Electric Appliance Co.Ltd.,a well-known cross-border e-commerce company,with comparison analysis and systematical analysis,the thesis examines its AIS systems from three aspects,namely,the structural construction of the system,the day-to-day operation of the system,and the effectiveness and the implication of the system.First,the thesis points out some issues in cross-border e-commerce accounting management,while illustrating the use of blockchain related technologies in accounting area,dealing the theoretical framework and pragmatic implications of employing blockchain to reform Accounting Information Management in transitional e-commerce sector.Then,the thesis states the definition and characteristics of blockchain technology,shedding lights on some of the key concepts of accounting information and accounting information quality.And the emphasis on the theory of accounting operation integration and information asymmetry in this section,serves as a theoretical foundation to empirical analysis in later chapters.Additionally,from the descriptions of the current operational state of transnational e-commerce organizations and the AIS of Bear Electric Appliance Co.Ltd.,some internal issues within Bear Electric Appliance Co.Ltd.,have been concluded.Moreover,it is recommended for the accounting component and the operational component within the organization to be amalgamated,and to establish a distributed AIS from a blockchain perspective.The analysis also illustrated the necessity and practicality for Bear Electric Appliances Co.Ltd.,to employ said system,by illustrating some basic deigns of the distributed AIS and comparing it with the currents system,as well as detailing some utilization strategies of the current system.What’s more,this thesis introduces the maintenance procedure,the operation process,and the successful functions,based on the operational context of Bear Electric Appliance Co.Ltd.,from which it is prognosticated that Bear Electric Appliances would benefit from its positive effects.Last,the research content is reviewed,summarized,and extended.
