Discussion On The Design And Construction Of Huiqing Covered Bridge In Yong’an City,Fujian Province

In order to provide better protection for Fujian Yong’an Huiqing Covered Bridge,draw on the experience of traditional architecture and promote the traditional culture behind it,this paper uses field surveys,model analysis,chart drawing,literature research and other means to discuss design and construction features.The conclusions are as follows:Firstly,the site selection of the Huiqing Covered Bridge is the result of comprehensive consideration from the perspectives of land and water transportation,hydrogeology,and geomantic situation.Convenient water and land transportation reflects the necessity of site selection.The unique hydrogeological conditions determine the uniqueness of the site selection,and the resulting good feng shui pattern verifies the correctness of the site selection.Secondly,Huiqing Covered Bridge is a public place in the village that has multiple functions such as transportation,sacrifice,performance,and life.It has a different spatial form from the square and shows a completely different life scene between the village and the city.Thirdly,the form and space of Huiqing Covered Bridge and its affiliated buildings show the characteristics of being influenced by Taoist culture.Using various techniques in the form to create upward momentum,rendering Taoist "fairy ideals";the blurring of indoor and outdoor spaces,balanced and symmetrical features express Taoism’s philosophy of "integration of man and nature";significant axis characteristics reflect the Taoism etiquette of "centered in respect".Their color and decoration also inherit the traditional Chinese Taoism’s Yin Yang Five Elements Theory,which clearly reflects the Taoism’s pursuit of auspiciousness and longevity.Fourthly,the construction of Huiqing Covered Bridge and its affiliated buildings have clear goals and a wide range of strengths.The local experience,combined with the northern beam-lifting style and the "four-pillar for a hall" approach,aims to create distinctive forms and spaces.Finally,the protection model of Huiqing Covered Bridge is mainly led by the government and involving various social forces.On this basis,suggestions are made for protection methods.
