The building has the characteristics of long life cycle and large resource consumption,and has a huge impact on the environment and economy.Life cycle assessment(LCA),as a systematic and sustainable assessment method,can consider the environmental impact of the entire life cycle of a building.Traditional LCA analysis is based on two-dimensional drawings to extract project data,the process is very tedious and the accuracy is not high,the use of comprehensive building information in the BIM model can effectively simplify the LCA analysis process.The BIM model can carry multi-dimensional information during the entire life cycle of a building.Applying BIM technology to LCA research can improve the efficiency of data reading and analysis,simplify and optimize the LCA analysis process.In this paper,through Revit Extensible Program Interface(API),an LCA calculation plug-in that can be applied to various stages of architectural design is developed in C# language,and the LCA component and material database created by SQL Sever is built in.First,the basic theory of the database is studied,the common concepts in database development and the functions and characteristics of the database management system are sorted out.According to the data requirements of the computing tools,a database of LCA components and materials is built in SQL Sever to complete the database as a whole Design,data table design,and relationship design between tables.Secondly,the usage of Revit API,plug-in registration method and auxiliary tools used in the plug-in development process were studied,the overall framework of the calculation tool was built,and the whole was divided into element extraction module,database management module,element data analysis module,numerical value Matching module,calculation module and data chart export module,and develop one by one in C# language according to each function module.According to the process of using the calculation tool,the functions and methods of each interface are introduced one by one.Finally,the calculation tool was used to analyze an actual case.The LCA calculations were carried out from the early stage of design and the deepening stage of the design.After actual use testing,the tool can meet the needs of the analysis process.
