Urban green space is closely related to the quality of life and happiness of users.Urban green space can not only bring physical benefits to users, but also bring many psychological benefits to users. It can also improve the urban ecological environment and enhance the image of the city. However, the premise of realizing these functions is that urban green space must meet the basic safety needs of users.Otherwise, the service function of urban green space may not be realized, because people will refuse to enter the environment with low security. In recent years, scholars have gradually realized that improving users’ sense of security is crucial to the optimization of the overall quality of urban green space. At present, our country to improve urban green space user security research mainly stays on with the introduction of the western theory of criminal defense, such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design(Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design,or CPTED),special research aimed at improving user security, and the study of user security at night in our country remains to be explored.Based on the above background, this paper, based on CPTED theory, explores the relationship between landscape elements and sense of security under the framework of CPTED theory, explores design strategies to improve users’ sense of security, and carries out design practice for Lucheng Park.By sorting out the research status of CPTED and security at home and abroad, the relationship between them is clarified. On this basis, this paper further explores the relationship between landscape elements and night security under the framework of CPTED.Firstly, urban green space in Xuzhou City,Jiangsu Province was taken as the research object, and 24 urban green spaces were selected as experimental sites.143 participants evaluated the night security of the selected sites through online questionnaire and photos as the media.Secondly,by referring to previous studies and using quantitative methods, eight landscape elements are defined according to the four elements of CPTED theory, namely, natural monitoring, sense of domain, landscape maintenance and activity support. Finally, the correlation analysis in SPSS17.0 is used to explore whether there is a relationship between landscape elements and night security under the framework of CPTED.Curve-fitting analysis and linear regression analysis are used to explore the specific indicators affecting night security. The main conclusions of the experimental study include:(1)there is a positive correlation function between all landscape elements under the framework of CPTED and Chinese users’ sense of security at night.(2)The brightness of the light has the most significant impact on the improvement of the sense of security at night.(3)Based on the results of literature review and experimental demonstration, this paper proposes three starting points to promote users’ sense of security: the construction of physical environment, the creation of space atmosphere, and the comprehensive management in the later stage.Focusing on the construction of physical environment, three spatial layout elements and seven landscape elements are summarized in the specific design. Finally, through the form of field research and interviews, the current situation of Zhengzhou Lucheng park under the framework of CPTED six elements assessment,in view of the Lucheng park assessment weak items, carried out a specific design, discusses the specific design application of landscape elements. The experimental research conclusions of this paper provide a theoretical basis for improving the sense of security of urban green space users at night.Based on the case practice of Zhenzhou Lucheng Park, this paper provides practical suggestions and guidance for improving the sense of security of users. This paper includes 76 figures,34 tables and 99 references.
