A Study On The Relationship Between Place Attachment And Landscape Preference

Place attachment studies the positive emotional connection between people and place,and landscape preference is an evaluation of people on landscape environment.This paper discusses the relationship between place attachment and landscape preference through theoretical and empirical research.Taking Hangzhou Lakeside Park as a case study,this study used field observation and questionnaire survey to investigate the characteristics of site attachment and landscape preference of visitors in Lakeside Park.Factor analysis was used to explore the dimension composition of place attachment and landscape preference.Through descriptive statistical analysis,the basic information of the survey samples,the overall characteristics of place attachment and the overall characteristics of landscape preference were analyzed.The variance analysis was used to explore the difference characteristics and influencing factors of place attachment.Correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between site attachment and landscape preference of lakeside park visitors,Suggestions and strategies on how to improve the emotional connection between the tourists and the lakeside park are put forward according to the research results.The main conclusions are as follows :(1)Lakeside Park visitors’ place attachment is composed of place dependence and place identity,and mainly consists of place identity;Landscape preference consists of garden design element preference,social element preference and recreation activity preference.(2)Age,visiting frequency,travel distance and time of recreation were significantly correlated with the site attachment of the tourists in lakeside parks,and the co-existence time between people and places was the main influencing factor of the site attachment of the tourists.(3)Landscape preference of lakeside park visitors positively affected site attachment,that is,the stronger the lakeside park visitors’ preference,the higher the degree of attachment to the site;All dimensions of landscape preference have significant positive effects on place attachment.Recreational activity preference has the greatest impact on place attachment,followed by garden design element preference and social element preference.(4)The preferences of landscape design elements and social elements have a positive impact on the enthusiasm of visitors to participate in recreational activities.The higher the preference of lakeside park visitors to landscape design elements and social elements is,the stronger their willingness to visit the lakeside park will be.(5)The site identity of the tourists in the lakeside park has a positive impact on the site dependence of the tourists,that is,the emotional identity of the tourists to the lakeside park has a positive impact on the functional dependence of the tourists to the lakeside park.
