| Most of the existing old communities in Wuxi were built in the 1970s and 1980s.Restricted by the construction background and planning concept at that time,most of these communities have high building density and small green area.Due to the early construction and lack of management and maintenance,the greening quality of old communities is getting worse and worse,which can not meet the daily needs of residents.How to balance the contradiction between insufficient green area,poor green quality and residents’ yearning for a better living environment under the condition of limited land use in the old community,and effectively improve the green environment of the old community,has become an urgent problem to be solved in the transformation of the old community at this stage.This paper takes the residential quarters built in Wuxi from 1978 to 1991 under the welfare housing system as the research object,and takes community greening as the research content,which is one of the main elements of its outdoor environmental quality,to study the feasibility method of its improvement design.Based on the field investigation of Wuxi old community in different seasons and periods and the collection of a large number of graphic data,this paper systematically studies the Greening Status and improvement methods of Wuxi old community by using urban planning,landscape design,ecology and other related theories and research methods.First of all,the paper fully combs the historical,social and cultural background of Wuxi old community construction to understand its current situation and causes;Secondly,the paper analyzes the current situation of public greening,house side greening and road greening in old communities,and summarizes the current situation of green environment in old communities in Wuxi from the aspects of green layout,landscape quality and plant configuration.Through the analysis of questionnaire data,this paper understands the residents’demand for green environment;Finally,the paper elaborates the current situation of old community greening,and summarizes the common problems,such as insufficient green area,poor landscape quality,low space utilization rate,lack of green management and maintenance,etc.This paper puts forward the strategies of the old community greening improvement design in Wuxi,including the integration of green space,optimization of plant configuration,improvement of green space function,and improvement of management mode.Under this strategy,the improvement methods of the overall green environment and all kinds of green space nodes are discussed in detail.And this improved methodology is applied to the improvement design practice at the end of the article.Taking Jinghai community in Wuxi as the practice site,the feasibility of the design method is tested and improved through practice.This method can provide some reference for the old community greening improvement design in Wuxi and its surrounding areas. |
