The FPGA-based real-time digital solver(FRTDS)makes full use of the characteristics of FPGA high parallelism and depth pipeline, and can realize the arithmetic-level fine-grained simulation operation, which has been applied in the field of power system simulation. In this paper, considering the rational use of FPGA resources,a new FPGA-based real-time digital solver(FRTDS)for power system simulation is proposed. On the basis of discussing the relationship between the number of computing components, the operating frequency and the length of the pipeline, the best selection principle is given.By analyzing the implementation method of multi-port read/write circuit, the calculation formula of multi-port read/write circuit consumption look-up table(LUT)is derived. In view of the excessive use of LUTs in the original computing components, the basic arithmetic expressions of the power system simulation program are characterized by a typical arithmetic subset and multiple uses of the same variable, and the computing components are assembled in a single typical computing manner, with shared read control. The multi-port input circuit outputted by the device part and the multi-port output circuit with the output of the shared operation core part realize data communication between the arithmetic components.Tests on the original and new FRTDS show that the proposed solution has shorter pipeline length and higher serial and parallel computing power. The accuracy of the simulation results and the efficiency of the new solver are verified by the 110 k V substation.
