Abstract/Summary:
With the development of computer aided technology, parametric design has become one of the current hot research directions in academia. However, the existing parametric design is still dominated by technology-driven design methods. No scholars have conducted research on parametric product design and development from the perspective of individual subjective well-being of users, and no parametric product design framework based on positive experience has been established. The main structure of this study is as follows.Purpose: First,to construct a parametric product design model based on positive experience;Second, design multiple parametric products based on positive experience;Third, the parametric design framework is used to promote the improvement of user positive experience and subjective well-being.Methods: First, the literature related to positive experience and parametric design was collected, sorted out and analyzed.Secondly, based on literature analysis, the concept and research status of positive experience and parametric design are defined.Thirdly, based on the general parametric design process and positive experience design,a parametric product design hypothesis model based on positive experience is proposed.Fourthly, the effectiveness of the design method model is discussed through experience of users and guidance of expert, and the hypothesis model is gradually improved iteratively.Fifthly, based on the model of design method, related design practice is developed.Sixth, optimize the design product through the user’s evaluation of parametric design; Finally, the design results are analyzed and discussed from the perspectives of positive definition, image generation, parameter design and scheme output. Conclusion: A parametric product design model based on positive experience is constructed. Its framework includes four parts: positive definition, image generation, parameter design and scheme output. It mainly explores the symbolic meaning behind the product through positive definition, grasps the internal psychological needs of users, and determines the direction of positive design.Through image generation, guided by the positive design direction, the generation of product concepts or experience paths is promoted successively from the three aspects of user description, simplified abstraction and concept generation.Control the design process and evaluate the design results through parameter design and user participation collaborative design method;Through the additive manufacturing technology to complete the visual presentation of the design results. This is helpful for designers to use this parametric product design model to expand the range of design possibilities, and to improve users’ positive experience and even subjective well-being through interactive experience.Theoretical and practical contribution/significance: Based on the current status of positive experience product design and the development of parametric product design, this paper introduces the relevant theoretical research results of positive design into the development of parametric product design, and constructs a parametric product design model based on positive experience from the perspective of satisfying user psychological needs and participating in collaborative design. On this basis, personalized and emotional parametric design products are designed for individual users. On the theoretical level,a method path and model framework oriented by positive of users’ experience are constructed. On the practical level, through the positive experience of intervention in parametric design, more possibilities have been added and expanded in the practice of parametric design.Through the collaborative parametric design of user participation, the personalized and differentiated needs of users are satisfied.
