With the rapid development of rail transit,more and more people choose to travel by subway.Due to the shortage of urban land,most subways are built underground.At the same time,for its complex spatial structure,passengers are easy to get lost in subway station which make them anxious and nervous.Therefore,the reasonable configuration of guide signs in subway stations is particularly important.The scientific configuration of guide signs not only enable passengers to obtain accurate information in the station,but also can improve the efficiency of the station operation organization.So how to classify,configure and optimize the guide signs in subway stations and then form a standard have become an important research topic.Firstly,the paper analyzes passengers’ demands for guidance signs from the perspective of boarding and alighting behavior,including the subway staion’s space characteristics,passengers’ characteristics,guide sign system and passengers’ demand.The 15 behavioral needs are put forward and classified into five categories such as safety,guidance,cognition,positioning and physiology.And then the guidance signs are divided into three levels: basic level,necessary level and important level.Then,the present situation of the subway guiding sign and its problems are analyzed.The guidance signs’ content,layout,spatial loction and arragement are elabrated.The spatial allocation model of guide sign is established and solved by Matlab software.Finally,the Beijing Xiyuan subway station is selected for instance analysis.Based on the annalysis of its passengers’ boarding and alighting behavior,the problems with its guidance signs are pointed out.The guidance signs are optimized from three aspects:the content,layout and location.Combined with the spatial allocation model,the location points that should be added or enhanced are calculated.The model’s results are verified by Anylogic.
