As a new type of technology,modular vertical greening can not only beautify the building facade but also improve the thermal performance of the building.Nowadays,modular vertical greening is mainly based on qualitative research,focusing on concept introduction,technical guidance,design reference,etc.There are few quantitative studies through experimental measurement,and there are few quantitative experiments in the cold northern regions.This paper selects Shijiazhuang in a cold area to conduct a thermal experiment of modular vertical greening,which provides a quantitative data reference for the experimental research under this climatic condition.This article starts with a comprehensive review of modular vertical green walls from the perspective of architecture: collects literature on vertical greening,summarizes its development history,and classifies vertical greening.On this basis,the basic structural prototype of modular vertical greening is summarized,which provides a theoretical basis for subsequent experimental design.Summarize and summarize the classic cases of modular vertical greening,learn and summarize the advantages of design from classic cases,and provide reference for the green wall design of the following two actual projects in Shijiazhuang.An experimental platform was built in Shijiazhuang area to conduct research to measure outdoor parameters,wall temperature,indoor air temperature and humidity and other data,and evaluate changes in building thermal performance under various influencing factors.The experimental results show that: In summer,the modular vertical greening has a cooling effect on the building wall,and the maximum temperature of the outer wall of the laboratory room is 16.2℃.The cooling effect of the modular vertical green wall facing south is the best,the cooling effect of east and west facing wall is the second,and the cooling effect of north facing is poor.Modular vertical greening of the low-density planting group has a poor effect on improving the thermal performance of the wall;the modular vertical greening of the high-density planting group and the wall-covering planting group can have a good wall cooling effect.The modular vertical greening with decentralized layout has the best cooling effect,the wall cooling effect of the matrix-modular vertical greening is the second,and the centralized and two-end modular vertical greening has the worst cooling and heat insulation effect.The leaf area index and coverage rate of plants are important factors that affect the cooling effect of modular vertical greening: the higher the leaf area index(LAI)and coverage rate,the better the shading effect of plants and the better the wall cooling effect.Planting substrate heat insulation: planting soil>substrate cotton>ceramsite,and the thicker the planting substrate,the better the wall insulation.Based on the conclusions of experimental research,a modular vertical greening design strategy suitable for Shijiazhuang area is proposed.The design strategy is applied to the actual building project,and the thermal performance of the building is simulated through Energy Plus software,and the energy saving efficiency of installing the modular vertical greening according to the strategy is obtained,thereby verifying the feasibility of the design strategy.
