The measurement and modeling of vehicular communication channels is one of the important prerequisites for system and algorithms’ design and verification of vehicular communication systems.Vehicular communication environments show some similarities with those of cellular wireless communication. However, significant differences exist in vehicular channels due to relatively low antenna heights and high mobility. The main works of this thesis are about researches on statistical channel modeling in vehicular network(VANET)as shown in following.Firstly, some important concepts on channel modeling, such as time-delay spread, spatial spectrum spread, doppler frequency spread, are described. Then path-loss fading models, shadow fading models and small-scale fading models are classified and simulated, which can also been used in VANET channels.Secondly,time-frequency fading characteristics in Vehicle-to-Vehicle(V2V)channels are analyzed. Those typical existing researches on V2 V channel measurements are classified systematically.Part of the experimental channel models are reproduced via simulations. In addition, the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering(WSSUS)channel model based on3 GPP documents and the modified non-WSSUS channel model are generated.Thirdly, the geometry-based statistical channel models(GSCMs),which mainly include the geometric-based single bounce elliptical model(GBSBEM),the two-ring multiple input multiple output(MIMO)model, the two-cylinder MIMO model, and the two-sphere elliptical cylinder MIMO model, are compared. The GBSBEM and the two-ring model are mainly used for the early 2D V2 V channel modeling. The two-cylinder model and the two-sphere elliptical cylinder model are further developed for 3D channel modeling. The detailed generation schemes and results including the envelope statistical characteristics and the space-time correlation characteristics of the above models are presented and simulated. Finally, the Irregular shape geometric-based statistical channel models(IS-GSCMs)are studied. For narrow-band channel model, influences of velocity and size of mobile scatterers on channel time-domain correlations are analyzed.Space-time correlation characteristics of mobile scatterers and static scatterers are compared by simulations, respectively. For broadband channel model,time-varying characteristics of street channel model were analyzed, including time-varying root-mean-Square Delay Spread(RMS-DS),time-varying spatial correlation and delay related Doppler frequency, etc. Moreover, the theoretical result of delaydependent doppler probability density function in crossroads is derived and verified by simulations.
