In recent years,the rapid development of high-speed railway has brought unprecedented impact on highway passenger transportation by virtue of its own technical and economic advantages.At the same time,it has changed the original transport pattern.The market competition faced by highway passenger transportation is getting increasingly fiercer.As a basic service industry that satisfies the mass travel needs of the people,the transformation and upgrading of highway passenger transportation is imminent.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the competition and cooperation between high-speed railway transportation and highway transportation,to quantify the impact of the opening of the highspeed rail on highway passenger transportation,explore the choice mechanism of intercity travel mode and provide guidance for the transformation and development of highway passenger transportation.This article relies on the 2019 Jiangsu Transportation Technology and Achievement Transformation Project-The impact of the completion of the North Jiangsu high-speed rail network on highway passenger transportation and countermeasures(No.2019-02-1162286).Taking highway passenger transportation as the research object,firstly analyzes the demand characteristics based on the passenger tranportation data,and takes the Lianyan Channel of Jiangsu Province as an example to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between the highway and the railway passenger transportation.Secondly,considering the customized trend of highway passenger transportation on the basis of the competition and cooperation between the railway and the railway,selecting personal attributes,travel attributes and mode attributes and other influencing factors,combining the differences between high-speed rail and other modes of transportation,conducting survey design of intercity traveler’s choice of transportation mode,establishing an inter-city travel mode selection model to forecast change of mode choice behavior and preference of different people after the opening of the high-speed rail,so as to propose the countermeasures on transformation of development.The results show that the total volume and spatial distribution of highway passenger transportation and high-speed rail passenger transportation are both related to the city’s economic development level,and there is a clear "centricentricity" to the regional central city.The demand for highway passenger transportation is a plane-like distribution and the service travel distance is mainly within 150 km.However,the high-speed railway demand presents a linear or banded distribution in space,which shows a higher universality of travel distance compared with highway passenger transportation.The opening of high-speed railway has a significant impact on highway passenger transportation,and the degree of impact is closely related to the travel distance and the spatial accessibility of high-speed railway stations.There is fierce competition between highway passenger transportation and high-speed rail passenger transportation in shortdistance(within 150km)travel,but highway passenger transportation can still maintain a certain competitive advantage by subdividing destinations with high directness and convenience.It can cooperate with high-speed rail in connection and supplement of holiday transport capacity.The inter-city travel mode selection model shows that age,occupation,income,family car ownership,distance from the starting point,time and cost significantly affect the choice of inter-city travel mode and model also explores the preferences of different groups for custom service when the high-speed railway station is far from the starting point.Based on the analysis of passenger transport data and modeling results,the paper defines the development orientation of highway passenger transport based on the competition and cooperation between highway and railway,and puts forward the countermeasures for the transformation of development on highway passenger transportation to improve its competitive advantage and the service qualityThe research results will provide reference and decision support for the highway passenger transport industry to understand the current situation,grasp the competition and cooperation between railway and railway,foresee the risks and opportunities brought by the rapid development of high-speed railway,and formulate countermeasures for transformation of development.
