Driving is a very real-time task.The driving process requires the driver to quickly process a large amount of traffic information in a short time,and the traffic information is mainly obtained through the driver’s vision.This shows that the driver’s visual characteristics play an important role in ensuring driving safety.This article puts forward the concept of driver’s effective field of vision,that is,the range of field in which the driver can collect effective visual information during driving,to study the quantitative relationship between the effective field of vision and driving performance indicators,and to reveal the effect of effective field of vision on driving performance.Firstly,this paper uses the effective field of vision detection system to detect the driver’s effective field of vision;Based on the principal component analysis,the weight of each influencing factor of the effective field of vision is determined,and the comprehensive score of the effective field of vision is further concluded to evaluate the level of the driver’s effective field of vision;Finally,using k-means cluster analysis method,drivers are divided into two groups,which is prepared for the next step to analyze the impact of effective vision on safety performance.By searching relevant literature and visually relevant driving tasks and corresponding driving performance indicators,construct corresponding four virtual driving scenarios(normal driving,following driving,following random braking driving and observing obstacle driving),and organize participants to participate experiment.The data analysis shows that there are significant differences in the horizontal performance indicators of the two types of driving groups with different effective horizons,but the vertical control indicators have little effect on the two types of groups.Principal component analysis is used to determine the weight of each lateral performance indicator,and a comprehensive driving performance score is summarized to evaluate the driver’s driving safety ability.A correlation analysis method is used to study the correlation between driving effective vision and driving performance.There is a strong correlation between them.Finally,a cubic curve fitting model is used to determine the relationship between the effective field of vision and driving performance.The Pearson correlation coefficient and examples are used to verify the validity of the relationship equation.Finally,a quantitative relationship between the effective field of vision score and driving performance is obtained.The conclusion of this paper reveals the influence law of effective visual field and driving performance: the driving performance of the driver increases with the increase of the effective visual field level.The higher the effective visual field level,the safer the driver’s driving.
