| Less-than-truckload(LTL)transportation is an important part of the entire transportation system. The large less-than-truckload(large LTL)market accounts for more than 90% of the entire road LTL market. In recent years, road transport companies have developed a trend of integrating transport resources in the market, which has led to the emergence of a group of integrated companies in the large ticket market.Large LTL integration companies are in a stage of rapid expansion.Correct expansion decision is the premise of the company’s sustained and rapid development. The large LTL integration enterprise has established the national transportation network and operation network by optimizing and integrating various resources in the market, and has the characteristics of network organization. The paper takes the integrated enterprises in the large LTL market as the research object, and studies the expansion decision of the large LTL integrated enterprises according to the enterprise boundary theory and the time and space attributes of the large LTL transportation service.Large LTL transportation service products have two attributes of time accessibility and space accessibility. The expansion of integrated enterprises in the vertical and horizontal dimensions affects the time accessibility and space accessibility of transport products, respectively.Based on transaction cost theory and enterprise capability theory, combined with the production characteristics of large LTL transportation services, analyze the principle of large LTL integrated enterprise vertical expansion.Establish the vertical expansion decision model of the integrate enterprise, and study the impact of transaction cost, production capacity and timeliness of transportation service products on the vertical expansion decision of the enterprise.Using the economic effect theory of transportation network, analyze the horizontal expansion boundary of large LTL integrated enterprises.Based on the Salop circular city model,a horizontal expansion model of large LTL integrated enterprises is established to analyze the impact of the horizontal scale expansion decision of the integrated enterprises on the enterprise and the market. The study show that the timeliness of large LTL integration of enterprise transportation products has the greatest impact on the company’s vertical expansion decisions. When large LTL integrated enterprises provide time-sensitive transportation services, they are more inclined to expand the integration boundary;otherwise, integrated enterprises tend to cooperate with the market to complete transportation, and according to the company’s production capacity and the current control of the transportation chain adjust the size of the enterprise boundary.Large LTL integrated companies show no boundary characteristics in the expansion of the horizontal spatial network scale. When the integrated companies are smaller in scale than the competitors in the market before expansion, they will adopt a price reduction strategy to increase market share after integration, thereby achieving the goal of increased profits. When the enterprise scale of the integrated enterprise is the same or even larger than that of the competitor, the price increase strategy will be implemented after the integration, and there will be a tendency to monopolize the market as the scale of the integrated enterprise increases. |
