At this stage, people’s demand for road trips has gradually changed from satisfying people’s loads and safety to travel comfort, and they have paid more attention to their subjective psychological feelings during the trip.Existing highway travel comfort studies mainly focus on the impact of vehicle vibration, pavement smoothness, road alignment and other single factors on driver comfort. At the same time, the comfort evaluation uses objective physical indicators such as vibration parameters, acceleration, and human ECG variation. The impact and evaluation of people, vehicles, roads and the environment on the subjective comfort of travelers are rarely considered from the travel level.Highway has become the first choice for many road travelers due to its fast, safe, comfortable and flexible characteristics. Therefore, the influence of human, vehicle, road and environmental factors on the subjective comfort of highway travelers and its evaluation method research not only make up for the deficiencies of previous studies, but also provide a reference for the subjective comfort evaluation of highway travel, and it provides a basis for the improvement of travel comfort and the path choice of travellers. This article mainly studies the subjective comfort of car drivers on highway travel.First, the basic theory of the travel comfort of the highway is analyzed from the concept, characteristics and evaluation methods.Secondly, the impact factors of the subjective comfort of highway travel and their level division are analyzed and determined from the perspective of people, vehicles, roads and environment based on the SP survey method and literature research. Then the general statistical analysis, multiple linear regression and optimal scale regression models are used to analyze the importance and mechanism of the factors affecting subjective comfort of highway travel based on the verified SP survey data.According to the analysis results, suggestions for improving the comfort of highway travel are given.A toolbox for highway travel comfort evaluation was developed based on the Arc GIS platform according to the optimal scale regression equation. Finally,a highway network accessibility model considering travel comfort is constructed, and the influence of travel comfort on regional highway network travel accessibility is analyzed. The study found that the driving environment, traffic conditions, travel time, and road conditions are important factors that affect the subjective comfort of highway travel, and the degree of impact is greater than the socioeconomic attributes of the traveler. The subjective comfort of highway travel declines in the plain, plateau, mountainous terrain in turn, and is negatively correlated with travel time, and positively correlated with road conditions and traffic conditions.Men,people aged 31-40 years old, freelancers, people with incomes of 3000-5000 yuan, people with a driving age of more than 5 years, people who drive vehicles of less than 100,000,people who travel for leisure purposes, drivers who listen to music on the way will get higher subjective comfort of travel.High-quality people have relatively low travel comfort due to high travel comfort expectations. After considering travel comfort, the accessibility of the highway network between the nodes in the area will be lower than when it is not considered, but the relative size of the accessibility between the nodes remains unchanged.
