With the accelerating process of urbanization in China,many cities have frequently experienced waterlogging in recent years,causing extremely negative impact on the lives of urban residents.In 2013,President Xi proposed the construction of sponge cities for the first time at the Central Urbanization Work Conference.The sponge city concept is of great significance for promoting the development of new type of urbanization,protecting and improving the urban ecological environment.In the process of promoting the construction of sponge cities,the residential community is one of the objects closest to people’s life.The transformation of the original natural surface by real estate development and construction activities has reduced its ability to penetrate and absorb rainwater,which has become a significant factor for frequent urban waterlogging.A major incentive is to apply the sponge city technology to the development and construction of urban communities and follow the concept of low-impact development to ensure that the hydrological characteristics and ecological environment of the region remain basically unchanged before and after construction and development.This thesis takes the construction project as the research object.Firstly,the potential application of the technical measures of sponge city was briefly discussed,integrating with the construction,municipal and landscape construction drawings of the project.Secondly,the operation of the technical measures of the sponge city and the economic benefits of these measures were evaluated with the information from the soil and water conservation monitoring program and the quarterly report of the monitoring project,Finally,the highlights and shortcomings of the application of the sponge city construction concept in this residential community were summarized,with proposed guidelines on the implementation of this concept in the development and construction of low-density housing projects.(1)Through the combination of low-impact development technology measures,the project has achieved a better effect of soil and water conservation.(2)The highlights of the project are the extensive application of permeable pavement and low elevation greenbelt;Combine the landscape design with the basic function of rainwater storage and storage facilities;The combined application of various low-impact development measures forms a complete system of rainwater utilization from the source to the way and then to the end.Shortcomings of the project is lack of green roof and permeable asphalt pavement technical measures.(3)Rainwater storage facilities such as low elevation greenbelt,permeable pavement,and additional rainwater storage tanks can be used to reduce rainwater runoff at the source of the real estate development project area,ensure sufficient infiltration during the confluence process,and collect runoff that cannot be infiltrated at the end.By doing so,a control system from the source to end can be built,forming a technical system for collecting and utilizing rainwater resources from the production to the intermediate confluence and further to the end control,and thus maximizing the infiltration of rainwater runoff on the spot.With this systematic control,the total amount of rainwater runoff in the real estate project area is close to the figure prior to the development and construction.This could promote the development of sponge cities within the urban system,thereby providing a good living environment for residents.
