| It is an important measure of air pollution prevention and control to implement strict emission regulation for newly produced gasoline vehicles.It is also an effective measure to alleviate the conflict between the rapid development of automotive industry and air pollution caused by vehicles.The upcoming CN6 emission regulation will be not only strengthen the pollutant’s limits of relevant type approval requirements,but also implement the RDE test requirements which reduces the difference between the laboratory emission results and the real driving emission results.The research of engine bench calibration method is to meet the new requirements of CN6 emission regulation.The calibration of CN6 gasoline engine,especially the engine bench calibration needs to be more accurate with covering more working range.Considering the engine management system of CN6 gasoline engine equipped with a variety of technical measures and high coupling influences between the components,the traditional engine bench “full-factor” calibration method cannot meet the requirements of development schedule.This paper presents a model-based calibration method which could not only ensure the quality of calibration parameters,but also effectively shorten the development schedule.It is an ideal method comparing the traditional one.Firstly,using Do E technology to reduce the number of sample points.Secondly,using statistical modelling technology to achieve the engine response models from the measure data.Thirdly,using numerical solution to obtain the parameters of engine bench calibration.In this paper,the model-based calibration method is applied to the calibration of the charge model and VVT position optimization with a CN6 gasoline engine as pilot research.To reduce the number of sample points in the pilot research from over forty thousand to four thousand by using space filling Do E technology.To achieve more accurate engine response models from the measure data by using Gaussian process modelling technology.To obtain the calibration parameters directly or indirectly by using sequential quadratic programming solution.And then the application experiences of the pilot research are implemented into the whole engine bench calibration of CN6 gasoline engine.All the calibration parameters from engine bench are qualified by performance test with engine bench and emission test with sample vehicle,combined with the actual working hours,the proposed model-based calibration method is verified to meet the engine bench calibration development requirements of CN6 gasoline engine. |
