Faced with the rapid urbanization process,the weak awareness of urban context protection has led to the disappearance of many historic blocks and street spaces in the process of urbanization,which has led to the embarrassment of homogenization and non-recognition of the urban scene.In the introduction of the article,the author summarizes the problems of lack of identity,homogeneity of space and difficulty in spreading urban culture in the current stage of urban development.In view of these problems,the author concludes that culture is the intrinsic value of a city or a region which is different from other places through the study of traditional street space at home and abroad,and that urban residents can obtain cultural information through the activities of traditional street space,so urban traditional street space can be used as a concrete manifestation of urban history and urban culture.Da,the use of mass media theory can more effectively analyze these information,so as to better understand and carry out urban street space design.In the second chapter,the author defines the concept of mass media,and combines the theory of urban context to analyze the urban traditional street space.The author thinks that the urban traditional street space can be regarded as the media connecting urban culture and urban residents.The design process of urban traditional street space also follows the basic rules of communication.In the third chapter,the author clarifies the coupling relationship between mass media and urban street space through the comparison of characteristics,and combs the concepts related to the expression meaning of urban traditional street space,dividing the expression of traditional street space in mass media into three aspects: function,aesthetics and significance.In the fourth chapter,the author deeply discusses the media communication mode of urban traditional street space,establishes the core position of "audience" in the process of mass media communication,and further summarizes the organizational mode of traditional street space design with the unity of demand and cognition through the study of audience’s "cognition" and "demand".In the fifth chapter,the model is used to compare and summarize the three traditional street spaces in Fuzhou,namely,three lanes and seven lanes,upper and lower Hangzhou and Zhu Zifang blocks.The design method is further explained how to achieve the unity of "demand" and "cognition".The logical optimization,open thinking,Association integration,repeated stimulation,comparative citation and conceptual metaphor are summarized.It also puts forward the interference of environmental information on traditional street space.The innovation of this paper lies in combining the mass media theory,giving full play to the advantages of communication in the cross-disciplinary application,summarizing and utilizing the law of communication,and making corresponding analysis of the design process of urban traditional street space.From the point of view of the audience in the mass media,this paper summarizes the design method of traditional street space by using the core viewpoint that the audience can get "identity" under the condition of the unity of "demand" and "cognition".It provides a feasible new perspective and new thinking for the design of traditional street space,and makes the urban culture better in the traditional street space.Express it more effectively,so as to convey the city’s cultural information.
