Research On Modeling Design Of Blind Stick Based On Kansei Engineering

As one of the important tools for the visually impaired to walk in modern life,the blind cane directly affects the travel experience of the visually impaired.Most of the domestic research on blind cane focuses on the hardware foundation required for the realization of functions such as obstacle avoidance,voice interaction,and positioning and navigation.There are few studies on the emotional and psychological experience of blind sticks.The existing research on the design of blind cane that meets the user experience is mostly qualitative research and theoretical analysis.Based on kansei engineering theory,this research carried out quantitative and qualitative research on kansei image of the cane shape.The main work of this research includes:（1）Through research,the psychological characteristics,physical characteristics,and the behavioral characteristics of walking with a stick.Through online interviews and travel behavior observation methods,we can obtain the mental state and travel status of the visually impaired,to provide a first-hand reference for the design of the blind cane.（2）Determine the semantic vocabulary pair for the evaluation of the cane shape.Collect vocabulary describing blind sticks and other items for the visually impaired through the Internet and interviews.After card sorting and expert evaluation,seven kansei vocabulary pairs are obtained.According to the data obtained from the blind cane test,six kansei vocabularies are finally determined to be "bad-good","difficult to use-easy to use","clumsy-lightweight","uncomfortable-comfortable","cold-friendly",and "dangerous".-Safety".（3）Construct a model between the shape of the cane and kansei vocabulary pairs.Disassemble the shape of the cane,and determine the design category table of the cane handle,the connection method of the handle and the rod body,and the shape of the cane.Obtain the "01" matrix of the cane design category,and combine the kansei image score data to construct the linear regression equation between the cane attribute characteristics and the emotional tendency.Through morphological analysis and kansei evaluation test,this research has determined what kind of feeling different cane shapes bring to the visually impaired.The blind stick with the handle and the stick body proposed in this research is not popular among the visually impaired group,and it is easy to give the visually impaired people a sense of danger.Compared to the drop shape and the mushroom shape,the round tip shape performs better.The results of this research provide direction guidance for the key design of a certain feature part of the blind stick around a certain emotional image.The innovation of the research lies in the application of kansei engineering theory to the modeling research of the blind cane and guiding the design of the blind cane.
