| The development of the information age is inseparable from optical communication technology,and optical fiber is the medium of optical communication.As an important branch of optical fiber,plastic optical fiber is receiving more and more attention.Compared with other communication media,plastic optical fiber has its own unique advantages in the field of short-distance communication,and has a very wide range of good application prospects.As a typical short-distance communication system,the local terminal communication network of the electricity information collection system is the touchstone for verifying the good communication capabilities of plastic optical fiber.With the popularization of smart grid systems,the exploration of the application of the optical communication technology,which is represented by plastic optical fiber,in electricity information collection system has very important practical significance.Starting from the analysis of the optical and mechanical properties of plastic optical fiber,this paper demonstrates the feasibility of its application in the electricity information collection system.From the perspective of optical transmission characteristics,the typical loss of plastic optical fiber in the visible light band is less than 200 d B/km,and the transmission bandwidth can reach 500 MHz,which can fully meet the current demand and subsequent development trend of the local terminal network in the electricity meter reading system;From the perspective of mechanical properties,plastic optical fiber can effectively reduce the additional loss caused by bending by virtue of its large numerical aperture.The bending reliability is very high.It can withstand 10~5~10~6 bendings and work normally.It can work in an environment below 80°C over 20years,which can meet the environmental requirements of the electricity meter reading system.On this basis,this article discusses the working characteristics,current situation and development trend of the electricity meter reading system under the smart grid trend,and explains that plastic optical fiber can fit with it and solve the problems existing in the current electricity meter reading system for the future,and lays the foundation for development of intelligent electricity system.The circuit design of the optical transceiver module in plastic optical fiber communication is provided,the working principle of the optical transceiver module is described respectively,and the circuit implementation of the light emitting and light receiving module is given.The light emitting module can convert the input electrical signal into the driving current of the light-emitting diode and drive it to emit light,thereby converting the data from the electrical signal to the optical signal,and handing it over to the plastic optical fiber.The optical receiving module can convert the optical signal in the plastic optical fiber into a weak current via a photodetector,amplify it by a two-stage amplifying circuit,and hand it over to the internal circuit for processing to realize the conversion of data from optical signals to electrical signals.In addition,the plastic optical fiber connector was discussed,and the connector structure that can effectively ensure the high stability and low insertion loss of the connection between the plastic optical fiber and the optical transceiver module was confirmed.On the basis of full theoretical analysis,the application of plastic optical fiber in the electricity meter reading system has been explored in practice.Firstly,the closed-loop topology of the secondary loop is confirmed.It is formulated based on the characteristics of plastic optical fiber and optical transceiver module,combined with the general installation of smart meters in practical applications,and can directly guide the transformation construction of plastic optical fiber reading method.An experimental system based on this structure was built to verify the working effect of the system in a small loop of 4 to 10 smart meters.The results showed that the power meter reading system using plastic optical fiber and its optical transceiver module operates stably.The reading success rate has reached 100%,the average reading time has dropped to 2.1 seconds,and the reading power consumption has dropped to 50m W,which is in line with expectations and has strong practicality;on this basis,cooperated with Shenzhen Wulian Optical Communication Company,build a pilot project of a plastic optical fiber electric meter reading system and have observed it for up to 80 days.The results show that the system is running stably.The average reading time of a single meter is 0.63 seconds,and the average reading time of all 187measurement points is 11.47 seconds,which means the reading efficiency is very high.The reading success rate is about 100%.The failure rate is 0,and the maintenance cost is 0,which successfully proved the feasibility of plastic optical fiber power meter reading. |
