| Deformation contact between rubber and hard substrate is widely used in industrial production. The surface morphology has a direct influence on the contact state, friction and wear and mechanical behavior between interfaces. There are many methods and theoretical models to describe rigid and flexible contact rough surfaces, but more studies focus on twodimensional rough surfaces. The characterization methods for three-dimensional rough surfaces are relatively simple and costly. In view of the above problem, this article, based on the statistical description of rough surface, using the autocorrelation function and distribution function, through numerical simulation method to obtain the real rough surface data point cloud coordinate, and use the bottom-up modeling method for rough surface reconstruction,to build the metal-rubber threedimensional model of random rough surface,The relation between surface roughness, external load, real contact area and contact state was established through finite element contact analysis of four contact cases with two surface roughness,Ra1.6 and Ra3.2.Three contact states, namely, near field, adhesion and slip, were described under system pressure, and the distribution of contact area under different contact states under external load was obtained. The results show that when the load is small, the contact area increases by about 6% with the increase of 0.1 MPa.When the load is large, the contact area increases by about 1.5% when the external load increases by 0.1 MPa.In the contact state, the slippage accounted for about 12%,and the near field and adhesion showed a completely opposite trend. With the increase of external load, the real contact area increases in a power exponential relation.Under the same load, the real contact area decreases with the increase of surface roughness. With the increase of external load, the contact state between the interfaces changes from near field contact to adhesive contact.According to the stress distribution and deformation of rubber surface,it is proved that abrasive wear is the main wear form of rigid and flexible contact interface. Finally, the real contact area of the metal-rubber contact interface was measured by experimental means and compared with the simulation data.It was found that the error fluctuated around 4.5%.The possible causes of the error were analyzed, and the reliability of the reconstruction method was verified. The research provides a new idea for the establishment of 3D model of rough surface, which is of great significance to the friction and wear analysis of rigid flexible contact interface,to extend the service life of mechanical system parts, and to guide the processing and manufacturing of the initial surface of friction pair. |
