| The teaching ability of engineering teachers in local undergraduate colleges is the key factor affecting the quality of higher engineering education.It is found that although the teaching ability of engineering teachers in local undergraduate colleges in China is developing rapidly,there still exists some shortcomings which need to be improved.According to a series of contemporary documents on the construction of teachers and the revitalization plan,the paper analyzes the influencing factors,current situation and existing problems of teaching ability of engineering teachers in local undergraduate colleges,by using literature research,questionnaire survey and interview,etc.It is found that some factors such as teaching motivation and new engineering construction have a great impact on the teaching ability of engineering teachers in local undergraduate colleges.Meanwhile,the teaching ability of engineering teachers in local universities has the following problems: knowledge structure needs to be enriched,teaching design ability has limitations,teaching implementation ability needs to be improved,and engineering practice teaching ability needs to be improved.Learning from the advanced experience and practice of engineering teachers’ teaching ability training at home and abroad,and aiming at the main problems existing in the development of engineering teachers’ teaching ability,some strategies are put forward to improve the teaching ability of engineering teachers in local undergraduate universities from the perspectives of teachers’,schools and society.The strategies are as follows: by improving teachers’ awareness of teaching responsibility,balance teaching and scientific research;by enriching the knowledge structure,build the foundation stone of teaching ability;by combining theory with practice,enhance teaching effect;by carrying out ideological and political studies,improve the teaching ability;by attaching importance to engineering background,make the teaching staff better;by refining teaching evaluation mechanism,enhance teachers’ drive to develop teaching ability;by perfecting teacher training system,promote teachers’ teaching ability;by constructing teaching incentive system,improve teachers’ teaching enthusiasm;by establishing and perfecting relevant standards and norms,complete the top layer design of teachers’ teaching ability development;by building a cooperative platform between schools and enterprises,promote the integration of production and teaching;by encouraging enterprises to take on the educational mission,improve the teaching ability of engineering teachers together. |
