| The suction intank canal is an important intake structure,whose hydraulic characteristics directly affect the intake conditions of the inflow runner,thereby affecting the performance of the pump.Due to some factors,such as geographical location,water discharge requirements,etc.,the layout of the pumping station is sometimes selected as a lateral inlet layout.There is a certain angle between the flow direction of side water and the main flow of the suction intank canal,which will produce undesirable flow patterns in the fore pool,which may affect the safe and economic operation of the pump unit,so rectification measures can be applied in the fore pool to carry out undesirable water flow.it has important reference value for the design,transformation as well as safe and economic operation of the pumping station.Curved wing walls and diversion piers are used for rectification,research results could provide reference for the design of the similar type of pumping station and the improvement of the flow pattern in the suction intank canal of the lateral inflow.3-D model of the suction intank canal of the lateral inlet pumping station is established to analyse and calculate project that the non-rectification measures for the design water level and the highest water level,which can be seen that after the water from the diversion river enters the suction intank canal,it is not easy to make a turn due to the inertia of the water flow.When water flow turning,a large-scale vortex will be formed on the right side of the suction intank canal near the inlet side of the diversion river,meanwhile,the two suction intank canal near the control gate will be deviated.The right straight wing wall of the suction intank canal near the inlet side of the diversion river was changed into a curved wing wall,and the geometric parameters of the curved wing wall were optimized by orthogonal experiments.The influencing factors include the angle of the suction intank canal entrance of the curved wing wall,end angle,projection length,and arc radius.the common L16(45)orthogonal table is used to perform visual analysis and variance analysis on the test indicators and to determine the main influencing factors,general influencing factors,etc.Afterwards,the streamline diagram of the horizontal characteristic sections is determined combined to analyze whether the vortexes has improved.The optimal parameter combination range of the curved wing wall to improve the flow pattern of the side-intake suction intank canal through two orthogonal experiments is that the entrance angle of the suction intank canal of the curved wing wall is 46°~48°,and the end angle of the curved wing wall is 17°~19°.The projection length of the curved wing wall is about 12m.The radius of the curved wing wall has little effect on the flow pattern,whose could be selected according to actual needs,then 3.5m is selected.The flow deflection for the suction intank canal near the control gate in the highest water level,the diversion pier is used to rectify,the angle of the diversion pier is changed,the adjustment of the deflection angle of the diversion pier to the deviated water flow is analyzed,and a single curved diversion pier is applied locally to solve the problem of small vortex on the side wall,the research results have engineering application value for multi-parameter optimization in the engineering design of pumping stations in the future. |
