"The essence of Chinese garden design is to use imagination in order to see the big in the small,but there is a void in the real," said Tong Jun However,how to deal with the problem of "imagination" in landscape architecture seems to lack a proper discussion on this issue.Perhaps because the discussion of "imagination" is subjective and cannot be discussed with a certain accuracy method,most of the current research work is mainly focused on the space technique or literal discussion of intention in the garden,unable to specifically describe some special contents in the garden.This paper holds that the comprehensibility of objects in landscape architecture is not only in the discussion of space,but also in the discussion of the relationship between objects.Therefore,this paper attempts to use Henry Bergson’s theory of memory,combined with the analysis method of structuralism related figures’ comments on art works,to sort out some undefined relations between traditional Chinese painting and garden to make some supplementary discussions.Bergson’s theory discusses the problem of consciousness and time with the concept of "continuous".He thinks that if it involves the content of consciousness or time,the main problem to be solved is memory.In Bergson’s discussion of memory,the analysis of memory and motion mechanism has appropriate and effective reference value for the physical travel experience(timeliness)in the garden Therefore,it provides a clue to answer the questions of "imagination" in garden.In addition,as for some seemingly inaccessible objects in landscape architecture,this paper holds that some clues are provided for discussion in traditional Chinese landscape painting.At the same time,structuralism and post structuralism can effectively discuss the painting objects by analyzing and commenting on art works(such as the elimination of subjectivity,the study of object relationship,structural disassembly and reorganization,etc.).And the structure theory of some objects invisible structure analysis is helpful to the discussion of the particularity of traditional landscape painting.Combined with the above different theoretical perspectives and methods from previous studies,this paper will make a cross discussion on ancient Chinese painting theory,traditional Chinese painting and classical Chinese garden,and try to make some necessary supplement and Discussion on the existing garden research while discussing how the garden can be accurately understood. |
