Research On The Public Space Design Of The Ancient City Wall Area In Yuzhong District,Chongqing

Since the beginning of the 21 st century,the scale of China’s urban construction has been unprecedented,which has caused unprecedented huge impacts on cultural heritage and its surrounding environment,and has become the most critical historical stage in the protection of cultural heritage.At the same time,in the process of urban planning and construction,a large amount of cultural heritage was neglected.The completed urban public space was uniform and the regional cultural characteristics of the city gradually disappeared.With the intensification of urbanization and the enhancement of historical protection awareness,the protection and use of cultural heritage in cities is receiving increasing attention in nowadays.The theoretical research objects in the world have expanded from cultural relics to all the history covered by the surrounding environment of the heritage.Cultural,social,spiritual,and economic content.Cultural heritage can not only reflect the historical and cultural process of human beings,but also carry the regional cultural characteristics of the city.It is important to explore and study the design methods for the protection and utilization of cultural heritage and its surrounding environment,which is important for the practice and promotion of the protection and utilization of cultural heritage.There is a long history and a large number of China’s ancient city walls.Although China’s ancient city walls have suffered large-scale demolition due to various reasons,many ancient city walls have been retained.The ancient city wall in Yuzhong District,Chongqing was built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and the city wall that is preserved today is integrated with the city.This topic selects the public space in the ancient city wall area of Yuzhong District,Chongqing as the research object,through the study and study of cultural heritage protection and utilization and public space related theories.Illustrated by the Case of “Tongyuanmen-Nanjimen”,Aiming at the problems of the quality of the public space in the city wall area,weakening of vitality,and lack of regional characteristics,the public space in the city wall area is designed.Its content involves: 1.The overall design of the base;2.Various special designs;3.Deepening design of some key areas.The design results include two parts,the research text and the design drawing.This topic takes the public space of the "Tongyuanmen-Nanjimen" city wall section in Yuzhong District,Chongqing as an example,to study the appropriate relationship between the historical and cultural heritage and the surrounding urban environment,the construction of regional cultural characteristics of urban public spaces,and the improvement of the living environment of the residents of old urban communities.I hope that through this design practice,we can provide some reference for the relevant research.
