After ten years of golden age from 2001 to 2010 with great growing speed,China’s automobile industries have gradually stepped from a growth period into a mature period,presenting three characteristics of "slower growing speed,increased vehicle presence and excessive production capacity" as a whole.At the same time,with technology innovation and vigorous rise of industrial revolution,new technologies such as new energy,new materials,and intelligence Internet connection have rapidly integrated to automotive industries,results in the domestic new energy vehicles continue to grow at a high speed.In order to adapt to the market,vehicle enterprises accelerate the transformation to electrification and intelligence,meanwhile pay more attention to research and development business and the collaborative innovation,which brings about the reformation of vehicle development process from single mechanical development to electromechanical collaborative development;from reverse design to forward development.Since the product data management is an indispensable part of vehicle development process,and 80% of R & D business is centered on data,a proper transformation of product data management will have great significance to the vehicle development mode of automobile enterprises in the new era.In the past,the research on product data management focused on the construction of data management platform.This paper focuses on how to transform and implement the product data management business of automobile enterprises in the new era from the perspective of system and process,taking company B as an example.Company B’s product data management business has been developed for many years.However,with the company’s focus on intelligent networking,forward design and so on,product data management has exposed a series of problems.As a whole,it presents a state of low business coverage,insufficient management depth,inability to match the R & D industry Business development needs.However,due to the relevance of the problem and the complexity of the potential causes,as well as the urgency of time and the continuous effectiveness of future development,we can no longer solve each problem from a single point of view.We must consider the overall solution as a whole.Based on the above,through the analysis of the current situation and development strategy of vehicle development business of company B,and the theoretical research of collaborative design and product data management,this paper puts forward the overall solution of product data management transformation with collaborative design as the main line,combined with the actual business condition of company B,develops the implementation plan from five aspects of organization safeguard,collaborative design specification,virtual review process,model quality management,and demand management method.Through the research and implementation of the solution,the product data management mode of company B has been successfully transformed.The problems are solved such as lacking effective collaboration between data management discrete of electronic control software and mechanical parts development,lack of virtual review and design of process information management,and poor model quality without forming model-based upstream and downstream collaboration.And they establish continuous and effective management mechanism and management method,improved the overall level of product data management.At the same time,integrating the concept of collaborative design,the data management business is examined from the whole value chain of vehicle development process,which is more in line with the thinking of system engineering,can more effectively support the improvement of R & D efficiency and product strength,and also lay the foundation for the development of intelligent R & D system.
