The global ocean transport pattern is a reticular interactive pattern that reflects the basic situation of the world’s maritime transport, which is composed of the world’s major maritime routes, carrier states and maritime trading powers.Among them, ship, namely shipping carrier,is the basis of maritime transport, sea route is an important medium, and the trade of goods is the core and soul. This paper selects the arctic route to explore its impact on the global ocean transport pattern and various parts.First, the arctic route has a double impact on the traditional route. The arctic route can share the flow of goods and relieve the pressure on the traditional route, promote the improvement of the environment of the route, improve the capacity and service quality, and promote the vested interests of the traditional route to seek a way so as to maintain the inherent position of the route. On the other hand, arctic routes may share the benefits of traditional routes, affecting the economic development of regions and countries along the routes. However, due to the difficulties in development, high transit costs and high technical requirements of ships, the arctic shipping routes have little impact in the short term and will not threaten the status of the traditional shipping routes. In the long run, arctic routes will have a greater impact on the traditional routes, but they will not replace them.In addition, the study believes that the development prospect of the northeast route will be better than that of the northwest route, mainly because of the differences in the environment of the route and the amount of resources along the route,as well as the different attitudes of the Russian and Canadian governments towards arctic development.Secondly, the development of the arctic route will have a positive impact on the shipping carrier states. The development of the arctic route needs a large number of ships suitable for ice navigation and icebreaker ships, and the demand drives the supply.Shipping powers can take this opportunity to improve the level of ship construction and train higher-quality crew and management personnel,as well as upgrade relevant supporting facilities, which can promote the development of shipping industry of the carrier states, and improve their shipping system. In addition, the arctic routes provide opportunities for maritime trading powers. The development of arctic routes has provided major maritime trading powers with more route options and facilitated their development of maritime economy and trade. All countries in the world can participate in the development of the arctic and share the arctic pie. Finally, the development of arctic routes have also had a profound impact on China. In the course of developing the arctic routes,China should continue to take the lead in scientific research, formulate and improve laws、regulations and policies, strengthen cooperation with Europe in building the ice silk road, enhance China’s voice in arctic governance, and promote sustainable development of the arctic.According to the study, when the arctic route is not fully connected in a short period of time,it will not have a substantial impact on the global ocean transport pattern and will not endanger the dominant position of the traditional maritime routes. When the arctic route is fully connected, the global ocean transport pattern will be enriched, shipping routes and trade channels will be expanded, which will have a more positive impact on the global ocean transport pattern as a whole, and form a beneficial supplement to the traditional routes, and the world maritime trade will be upgraded to a higher level.
