| The author’s master thesis is entitled "Interculturality of Zen Culture and Meditation Space——Research on the Design of Xiamen Fuxin Temple Meditation Center".The article is written based on the theory of intertextuality and comprehensively and systematically combs the relationship between Zen culture and meditation spaces, demonstrates the intertextuality between meditation space and Zen culture. What is more,in the architectural language environment, this article further expounds the embodiment of Zen culture’s intertextuality in practical design.First, the author explains the intertextuality theory and intersubjectivity theory produced by linguistics under psychoanalysis, and then redefines Zen culture and meditation space according to the analysis results. The Zen culture in this thesis focuses on a series of cultural paradigms of secular and religious symbiosis with traditional dissemination functions such as classics, poetry, public cases, paintings, and music. At the same time, the meditation space that has received attention is used as a new medium for jumping out of traditional expressions, transcending spiritual phenomena and materialized cultural forms. The author believes that the space in Zen is mainly reflected in intertextuality. Therefore it will be analyzed from four levels,in order to expounds the discourse function of space in Zen culture, and seeks the constructivity of spatial language symbols in the text of Zen culture. So that the spiritual penetration between the cultural and real space design could be explained. The Zen culture in the architectural space is mainly reflected in the intersubjectivity. There are ten perspectives are discussed in this article in order to find out how the architectures with different sizes, functions and cultures interpret the aesthetics of Zen and reflect the cultural value of Zen,as a result, the possibility of considering both architecture and Zen as a subject could be generalized.By combining the intertextuality and intersubjectivity, the actual text and actual design could be created, and it could propose many cultural connotations that Zen culture can make full use of during the architectural creation process, indicate that the meditation space is actually a intentional carriers between these two intertextuality including architectural design and Zen culture. But this intention is illusory when there is no concrete support, and the deep relationship between these two is metaphysical. Therefore,in the last chapter of the thesis,a bridge is established for these two through the design of Xiamen Foxin Temple Meditation Center.During the massive reading related documents process, there are five versions of plan design have been completed by the author, and each version of the design is relatively independent. However, the priority of the plan also reflects the author’s understanding of Zen culture. In the end,the author chose’textual dimension construction’ and ’Zen and mysterious nature’ as two different starting point, and form a detailed discussion of seventeen small points for seven functional spaces as well as using two relatively independent intertextuality design studies,to more specifically embodying the connotation and logic of Zen in design is either one or the other,so as to gain insight into the intertextual observation between Zen culture and meditation space, and provide a certain reference for the application of true architectural design. |
