| Nuclear Power Plants(NPP)were usually constructed through two phases,civil construction until dome sealed then equipment installation started.The reactor building of AP1000 and the CAP series NPPs are constructed with top open.Open-Top Construction can reduce construction time,but will also make the reactor building more sensitive to bad weather.The two self-reliance projects,Sanmen and Haiyang,use a Temporary Cover to help the reactor building to withstand hash weather.However,the effects are limited.The research of this paper is focused on:A.Investigates the practices at home and abroad in using temporary cover,analyze the necessity of the usage of a temporary cover for AP1000 3rd NPP to improve safety,quality and economy of the construction.B.Concludes 6 engineering requirements for designing a temporary cover,based on the experiences in using the temporary cover in the AP1000 selfreliance projects,and the construction logics of AP1000,CAP1000,and CAP1400.C.Develops 4 classical openable cover designs and achieve the relative best design by making a comparison including safety,economy(manufacturing,material),engineering flexibility(driven devices,installation,reliability and convenience).D.Evaluate the reliability of the relative best design by analyzing and verifying including structure(Typhoon and seismic),membrane(rain accumulation and wind),hydraulic system and control system.E.Analyzes the design platform used,the Intelligent Digitized Design Platform developed by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering R&D Institute,and uses this platform to accelerate design iteration and continuously improvement.A new temporary cover is developed which can be directly installed on the containment vessel of AP/CAP NPPs with good safety,economy and reliability.This new temporary cover is named as “Containment Cover Device of AP/CAP Advanced Nuclear Power Plant” and will come to service in 2017. |
