| Since the 2008 global financial crisis,the global shipping industry entered a downturn,China’s shipping industry is also facing many challenges,but only a year after the economic crisis,Denmark’s Maersk profits quickly rebounded significantly,while China Ocean Shipping Company(COSCO)Group represented by the large state-owned shipping companies today are still not out of the quagmire of losses.In this paper,through the study of COSCO,using SWOT to analyze the problem of China’s shipping enterprises is facing and proposes practical solutions.On the one hand,from the basic theory of corporate governance structure analysis,COSCO Group exist the problem of objective function between business managers and owners are not exactly the same,the agency led to a lengthy chain of inefficient management problems,while this agency problems also make the implementation of the corporate strategy to lose intrinsic motivation;On the other hand,from the analysis of the organizational structure set up by COSCO Group,the presence of organizational structure is unreasonable,low management efficiency and other aspects;authors believe that as the nature of the state-owned enterprises to enhance the competitiveness of COSCO,First of all,the management should try to improve enterprise strategic corporate governance and ensure the company’s organizational structure keep to updates;Meantime,through SWOT analysis between middle small size private shipping enterprises and large state-owned shipping enterprises found that they have highly complementary in the governance structure,strategic management.So COSCO Group made available to improve the internal corporate governance structure by mixed ownership,to update the company’s organizational structure to improve the internal management efficiency.In the condition of the international environment background cannot be changed.The management of COSCO Group can carry on internal reforms to improve it’s competitiveness in the international marketThe author hopes through this study to provide the reform and development solution for COSCO Group,but also can provide a reference for the development of similar large state-owned shipping enterprise;The author also hopes that other Chinese shipping companies can accept the viewpoint of this paper,promote them to actively join COSCO Group reform to share reform dividend,jointly promote the healthy development of China’s shipping enterprises. |
