The invention of the refrigerator greatly improves the quality of human life,simultaneously it causes inconveniences such as high energy consumptions andgrievous destructions on humans and our ecological environments. Currently, becausethat demands for residential energy efficiency is increasingly stricter, how to reducebuilding energy consumptions and to achieve energy conservations has been widelystudied as subjects. Therefore a new, potential and powerful refrigeration techniquewhich is more energy efficient and environmentally friendly than refrigerators willmake a significant contribution to residential energy saving work.Refrigerated space by using residential building space and selecting ice widelyexists in nature as cold source is new refrigeration way of energy conservation andprotection natural environment. This article presents a refrigeration concept andpromotes harmony and symbiosis of human and natural environment according toresearches on the refrigerated space and applies of which used in residential buildings.In ancient China, people had mastered the icy Tibetan food technology, such ascopper ice Kam of the Warring States Period, Qing Dynasty appeared wood fetalrefrigerator and ice storage and refrigerated food icehouse. Humans also discovered alot of natural refrigeration ways such as winter cold outdoor, naturally formed cave.Refrigerated space research material and inspiration refrigerated space can beachieved base on passive technologies, and play performance. Through theestablishment of the refrigerated space entity model, its refrigeration effect andrefrigerated indicators observation and measurement, analysis of the results shows,refrigerated space refrigeration performance is ideal.The refrigerated space has incomparable advantages than conventional methodsof refrigeration, such as lower input costs, less operation costs and more energysaving and environmental protection, and so on. Despite the research on newrefrigeration technique is still in initial stage and not being well known and acceptedinstantly, but the future applications and promotion prospects are bright.
