The research of metal complexes in luminescent materials, catalysis, magnetism and medicine has attracted much attention of researchers, especially the research of benzimidazole complexes in medicine. These complexes of[Zn(pbm)(5-hip)3](1),[Zn(pbm)(5-nip)3](2),[Mn(pbm)(H3btc)2(H2O)](3)and[Mn(pbm)(5-nip)3](4),where(H2HIPA=5-hydroxyisophthalic acid,H2nip=5-nitroisophthalic acid,H3btc=trimesic acide and pbm(pyridine benzene chelate material)=2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole),were identified via single-crystal XRD analyses.Complexes 1,2 and 4 pertained to the monoclinic system with spacegroup C2/c,while complex 3 belonged to the triclinic system with spacegroup P.In order to study the interaction between four metal complexes and calf thymus DNA,uv,fluorescence, circular dichroism and viscometry were used in this paper. The results showed that the interaction between the metal complex and CT-DNA mainly used static electricity or groove mode. This combination destroys the double helix structure of DNA,which in turn inhibits DNA replication. To sum up,we hope that the study of this paper can provide some theoretical basis and scientific basis for the development and utilization of anticancer drugs.
