Acrylic resins are widely used in adhesives,coatings,inks,control additives,pharmaceuticals,aerospace and other fields,because it has some excellent properties such as weather resistance,water resistance,corrosion resistance and chemical resistance.However,the disadvantages of acrylic resin,such as poor heat resistance,flammability,and mechanical fragility,restrict its application.If some measures could be taken to modify Acrylic resins’structure in a certain way,of which the performance would be improved and the application range would be expended as well.Modification methods of acrylic resin include organic silicon modification,organic fluorine modification,alkyd resin modification,epoxy resin modification,light curing modification and hyperbranched modification.In this paper,vinyl silane coupling agent(VTES)and perfluorodecyl silane coupling agent(PFDTES)are used as modified materials to prepare fluoro-silicon hybrid acrylic resin with good thermal stability and surface hydrophobicity by modifying the acrylic resin(PMMA-co-BA)through chemical modification or physical modification.Starting from the factors affecting the solution polymerization reaction(monomers,initiators,solvents,temperature,reaction time),the synthesis process of the copolymerization of MMA and BA was determined.Based on this process,the thermoplastic PMMA-co-BA-VTS hybrid resin was prepared first,and then the PMMA-co-BA-VTS-PFDTS hybrid resin was prepared by the sol-gel method.The appearance of the film of the resin marked with PMMA-co-BA-VTS-PFDTS was milky white.With the increase of fluorine content in the resin,of which the maximum weight loss rate was reduced by 16.2%,the residual mass was increased by 1.2%,the fastest weight loss temperature was increased by 4.6℃,the glass transition temperature was increased by9.3℃,the water contact angle was increased from 81°to 118°,and the performance test results of the film met the technical indicators of acrylic varnish in the paint industry standard named HG/T 2593-1994.Using TEOS and VTES as raw materials,cage vinyl oligomeric silsesquioxane(T8Vi-POSS)and two spherical SiO2 nanoparticles with different surface wettability were prepared by sol-gel method.Based on the synthesis process of the copolymerization of MMA and BA,the POSS hybrid acrylic resin marked with T8Vi~POSS-PMMA-co-BA was prepared.The appearance of the hybrid resin film was transparent,the maximum weight loss rate of the resin was reduced by 8.4%,the residual mass was increased by3.9%,the fastest decomposition temperature was increased by 7.8℃,and the glass transition temperature was decreased by 4.5℃.The results of the performance test of the resin’s film met the technical indicators of acrylic varnish in the paint industry standard named HG/T 2593-1994.
