At present, the research on the environmental impact of industrial structure upgrading focuses on the environmental protection effect brought by the increase of the proportion of the tertiary industry. As a strong support for the real economy, especially the manufacturing industry, the structural upgrading and high-quality development of Improving the current severe environmental conditions cannot be ignored. At the same time, with the promulgation of the "Made in China 2025" grand plan, the upgrading of the manufacturing industry has become an important thrust in the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The factors affecting the relationship between the upgrading of the manufacturing structure and environmental pollution are complex, and the degree of marketization should be one of the key factors. The process of China’s market-oriented reforms is very Chinese and conforms to China’s national conditions. It will certainly have a profound impact on the relationship between manufacturing structural adjustment and environmental pollution. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study whether or not the impact of the upgrading of the manufacturing structure on environmental pollution at different marketization levels will help achieve the "Made in China 2025" and practice a sustainable development path that takes into account economic growth and environmental quality. In this paper,on the basis of analyzing the internal mechanism of the impact of the upgrading of manufacturing structure on environmental pollution and exploring the role of marketization,we use stata15.0 to conduct empirical analysis of panel data in 30 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)from 2000 to 2017.: First, use the panel regression model to test whether the factors such as the upgrading of the manufacturing structure and the level of marketization have a significant linear relationship with the environmental pollution status;second, use the degree of marketization as the threshold variable to analyze the nonlinear threshold effect to explore the deepening of the degree of marketization Whether it will affect the relationship between the upgrading of the manufacturing structure and environmental pollution emissions;in addition, the geographical scope of the study will be divided into east, middle and west to further study the threshold effect of the degree of marketization in each region. The empirical results show that there is a significant linear relationship between the upgrading of China’s manufacturing structure and the reduction of environmental pollution in a certain range;more in-depth,within the country and the eastern, central, and western regions, the impact of the upgrading of manufacturing structure on environmental pollution is significant The threshold effect of the degree of marketization, that is,with the improvement of the level of marketization and the deepening of marketization reforms, the negative effects on the environmental impact of the upgrading of the manufacturing structure have been significantly reduced, and will further tend to improve the environment:(1)In the analysis of the advanced structure, there is a single threshold effect in the whole country and the eastern region. After the marketization degree crosses the threshold, the negative impact of the upgrading of the manufacturing structure on the environment is significantly reduced. The western region has a triple threshold effect and the structural upgrade on the environment The negative impact of the market has been declining with the market level exceeding the threshold, but the threshold effect has not yet appeared in the central region;(2)In the analysis of structural rationalization, there is a double threshold effect nationwide, that is,with the degree of marketization Raise and cross the threshold, the impact of structural upgrading on the environment appears as a "reverse U" relationship from negative deterioration to positive improvement and the improvement effect continues to increase after crossing the second threshold. There are single orders in the eastern, central and western regions.Threshold effect,in which the impact of structural upgrades in the east and west on the environment presents an “inverted U-shaped” relationship from deterioration to improvement, while the central region further strengthens the positive improvement on the original basis.China should continue to deepen market-oriented reforms, but when implementing specific reforms,it is necessary to fully consider the development status of all areas in the region, carry out differentiated market-oriented reform policies according to local conditions, and fully learn from international experience in light of China’s national conditions in well-developed eastern regions While advancing the degree of marketization in the relatively underdeveloped central and western regions,we must also focus on the government’s administrative functions to guide the overall development of the society.
