Research On The Effectiveness Of Public Participation In Environmental Governance

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and all aspects of society have made great progress.At the same time,environmental problems are still severe.The overall guidance of the government and the joint governance of all sectors of society are the main models of environmental governance at present.In the process of environmental governance,the public is the direct beneficiary and the largest group in the process of governance.This requires the introduction of the public into the environmental governance system and the effective use of the public’s power.This article aims to analyze the public participation willingness and measures to improve the effectiveness of public participation in environmental governance through the study of the current status of public participation in environmental governance in my country,in order to provide a basis for the government to effectively conduct environmental governance.In the process of research,this article first sorted out the existing research literature,and put forward relevant theoretical support,which formed the theoretical basis of this article.Afterwards,city D was selected as the research object,and a questionnaire survey was conducted among residents of city D.The questionnaire was mainly divided into five aspects:basic information of the interviewee,cognition of the environment,enthusiasm for participation,effectiveness of government governance,and effectiveness of public participation.After the questionnaire is collected,a basic descriptive analysis of the data is performed,and then the SPSS analysis software is used to further analyze the data.The results show that the public’s awareness of environmental governance,public participation enthusiasm,government governance effectiveness and effectiveness of public participation There is a positive correlation between genders.At the same time,this article combines the successful experience of the United States,Japan,and Canada in environmental governance,and finally comes up with suggestions to improve the effectiveness of public participation in the process of environmental governance in China.First,further improve the effectiveness of government governance.Strengthen environmental governance information disclosure and policy publicity;second,increase public enthusiasm for participating in environmental governance,smooth participation channels,ensure communication mechanisms,and respond to public appeals in a timely manner;third,build a positive image of government environmental governance and improve the environment The governance system is actively used to improve the public’s satisfaction with environmental governance.
