In thousands of years of historical civilization,the Chinese nation has bred countless cultural and artistic treasures.Guangxi,as a province with a dense population of ethnic minorities in China,has gathered many different ethnic minorities,among which Zhuang,as one of the ethnic minorities with the largest population in China,has a unique national culture that is different from other ethnic groups.The totem culture of Zhuang has a long meaning,and the frog totem culture can best reflect the nationality of Zhuang.As a characteristic of Guangxi Zhuang folk culture,frog totem culture has a great influence on many artistic design fields of Guangxi Zhuang Frog pattern derived from frog totem culture is the embodiment of Zhuang people’s aesthetic consciousness,and its cultural and artistic value is of great research significance.Therefore,the author takes the frog pattern of Zhuang nationality in Guangxi as the breakthrough point,aiming at contributing to the inheritance and innovation of hometown culture.By studying the origin,manifestation and application cases of Zhuang frog pattern in ceramics in Guangxi,this paper sums up the decorative and folk characteristics of Zhuang frog pattern,and then discusses the feasibility of applying Zhuang frog pattern in ceramic decoration design by means of daily tableware design practice,and carries out modern design of frog pattern from the aspects of tableware type,decorative pattern,color design and craft production.Finally,sum up the experience,and provide some ideas for the application of minority decorative arts in modern ceramic design,as well as the inheritance and promotion of Zhuang totem culture.
