| Business model innovation is a series of activities and structural logic for enterprises to innovate and maintain its core competitiveness and obtain sustainable profits.It has become the key to the success of modern enterprises and has been widely recognized by the practical and academic circles.In recent years,the sustainable pressure of economy,society and ecology is a major challenge facing the whole human society,and sustainable development has become the prominent theme of human development.The sustainable development of enterprises,as the main part of sustainable development of enterprises,is to explore the sustainable development of enterprises.With the increasing pressure of sustainable development,enterprises begin to reflect on the traditional business model innovation,and gradually turn to the sustainable business model innovation based on the concept of sustainable development and responsible innovation.Sustainable business model innovation is the transcendence of traditional business model innovation.It emphasizes that business model innovation should actively seek to embed social opportunities into enterprise strategy formulation and business model design while achieving economic sustainability,and ultimately create greater environmental and social value for multiple stakeholders.To explore the impact of sustainable business model innovation on firm performance,this paper first expounds the meaning of business model,the concept and characteristics of business model innovation and the concept of sustainable business model innovation,as well as the connotation and dimension division of sustainable business model innovation,and reviews the research on business model innovation at home and abroad.Secondly,based on the theory of sustainable development,resource-based theory,value network theory and innovation theory,this paper analyzes the relationship between sustainable business model innovation and firm performance,and the moderating effect of external environment(environmental uncertainty)and internal environment(property right nature)on the relationship between sustainable business model innovation and firm performance hypothesis.Then,selecting the listed firms in heavy pollution industry from 2012 to 2019 as the research sample,based on the perspective of constituent elements,from the level of enterprise value transmission,value creation and value acquisition,the paper calculates the measurement index of sustainable business model innovation by using factor analysis method,and empirically tests the impact of sustainable business model innovation on firm performance and the moderating effect of internal and external environment on the relationship between sustainable business model innovation and firm performance.The results show that sustainable business model innovation has significantly positive impact on firm performance,that is,under the control of other influencing factors,the higher the level of sustainable business model innovation,the better firm performance.Environmental uncertainty has significantly positive moderating effect on the relationship between sustainable business model innovation and firm performance,that is,the enterprise with greater environmental uncertainty,the positive impact of sustainable business model innovation on firm performance is stronger.The property right nature has significantly negative moderating effect on the relationship between sustainable business model innovation and firm performance,that is,compared with state-owned enterprises,sustainable business model innovation of non-state-owned enterprises has a stronger positive impact on firm performance.Finally,based on the findings of this study,this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions on how to improve their performance through sustainable business model innovation. |
