The Moderating Role Of Long-term Orientation On The Relationship Of Environmental Innovation And Firm Performance

According to the purpose in this paper, which is to promote manufacturing enterprise to carry out environmental innovation practice, we aim at exploring the inner relationship between environmental innovation practice and firm performance. After reviewing some relevant articles and research literatures about environmental innovation, green innovation, sustainable innovation and ecological innovation and firm performance, we analyze the questionnaire and data from Global Manufacturing Research Group(GMRG).Based on the survey data from 245 manufacturers of China, Vietnam and America, which is belong to Global Manufacturing Research Group(GMRG), the relationship between environmental innovation practice and firm performance, as well as the moderating effect of long-term orientation are examined in this paper. The results show that: environmental innovation practice has a significant positive impact on firm's environmental performance and does not have a direct impact on firm's economic performance. And firm's environmental performance has a significant positive impact on firm's economic performance. The further analysis reveals that if the firm has more long-term orientation, the stronger the positive relationship between environmental innovation practice and firm's performance will be.
