The Application Study On Baoxiang Pattern In Modern Women's Wear Design

As one of the representative patterns of traditional Chinese patterns,the Baoxiang Pattern emerged in The Wei and Jin dynasties and flourished in the Sui and Tang dynasties.It was originated from lotus pattern and formed by combining the characteristics of flowers such as peony and chrysanthemum in nature.With the introduction of Buddhism and the influence of domestic and foreign cultures,the Baoxiang Pattern has its unique pattern characteristics and beautiful cultural connotation.It is complicated in shape,rich and magnificent,and bright in color,which has high artistic value.At the same time,with the growing trend of "Chinese style" in recent years,the integration of traditional Baoxiang Patterns with modern fashion design not only opens up space for innovation in design,but also promotes traditional culture.Based on this,taking the Baoxiang Pattern as the research object,this article researches and applies it systematically.In this paper,literature research,cross-study,case analysis and other research methods are used to collect and summarize the graphical and literary data of the Baoxiang Pattern.The skeleton structure,pattern characteristic,color combination and its application in modern women's wear design are studied and analyzed,trying to find a reasonable entry point for the Baoxiang Pattern and modern women's wear design.Through the author's systematic research and design practice on the Baoxiang Pattern,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The skeleton structure of the Baoxiang Pattern can be summarized into three main types: "the cross” and “the pozidriv”,concentric circle and rotary radiation.Among them,the first type is the basic one and the latter two are developed by it.(2)The color of the Baoxiang Pattern is vivid and gorgeous and generally follows the principles of harmony,appropriateness and individuation when applied in modern women's wear design.In order to meet the needs of modern womer's wear design,ground color extraction method,overall color extraction method,ancient and modern color matching method can be applied.(3)According to the application of the skeleton and color,modern design techniques can be added to better integration of the Baoxiang Pattern and the modern design,such as digital printing,jacquard technology and three-dimensional modeling,elevating its contemporaneity and sense of style.In this paper,through the systematic study of the Baoxiang Pattern,searching for the correspondency of traditional pattern and modern clothing design,which is based on the practice.And hope that through this article,more attention will be taken on the Baoxiang Pattern,traditional meaning and fresh blood can be injected into modern women's wear design,which can provide a path and reference to follow-up development of Baoxiang Pattern.
