Polarizers account for up to 11% of the cost of liquid crystal displays.Among the total raw material costs of polarizers,the cost of the protective film material,cellulose triacetate TAC,accounts for up to 46%.The protective film is an important optical film layer in the polarizer,which acts as a mechanical support for the polarizer and blocks water vapor and ultraviolet rays.With the shift of the display production line to China,the localization of polarizer protective film production is imminent.But at present,the main materials and processing technology of protective film mainly rely on imports from abroad,and the core preparation technology is monopolized by Japanese and Korean companies.The introduction of domestic technology is severely restricted,the imported Japanese technology is behind the advanced level of foreign countries,the domestic lack of mastery of the details of the process parameters,and the lack of thorough understanding of the relationship between processing conditions and performance.Therefore,the localization of optical film products needs to be solved urgently,and the problems of immature film preparation and processing technology need to be overcome,mastered and absorbed,in order to finally realize the transformation of my country from a large display manufacturing country to a powerful country.When applied to liquid crystal displays,there are high requirements for the performance of the protective film.It is mainly prepared by solution casting.The main process includes solution preparation,coating,film stretching,post-processing,trimming and winding.Processing technology has a decisive influence on the performance of protective film,so exploring the relationship between processing technology and performance is of great significance to industrial production.In view of the current serious domestic technological development limitations,this subject has carried out a comprehensive and detailed regulation of the processing conditions of the whole processing process,and systematically explored the influence of different processing conditions on the structure and performance of the protective film.It is a comprehensive domestic production of polarizer protective film.Provide necessary reference and certain technical support.The research done is as follows:(1)The influence of the film forming process on the structural performance of the protective film.Select the appropriate film-forming material by testing the performance of the material,screen the solvent in combination with simulation,and configure the appropriate casting film solution,prepare a transparent protective film with a smooth surface and hydrophilicity by adjusting the casting film parameters,and explore the solution concentration.The influence of the thickness of the casting film and the drying temperature on the morphology and performance of the protective film is to determine the best film-forming conditions.(2)The influence of the stretching process on the structural performance of the protective film.By stretching the protective film prepared by solution casting,the stretching process parameters were systematically adjusted,and the influence of the stretching process on the internal crystallization and molecular chain orientation structure of the protective film was further explored,and the stretching temperature and speed were systematically explored.The influence of multiples and directions on the performance of the protective film improves the surface flatness of the protective film and maintains surface hydrophilicity and high light transmittance.(3)The influence of plasticization modification on the structural performance of the protective film.Different plasticizers are used to increase the speed of the protective film to improve the workability of the protective film.The plasticized protective film was prepared through the parameters determined by the above exploration,and the influence of the plasticized system on the structural performance of the protective film was explored.This article systematically explores the influence of the processing technology of the polarizer protective film on the structure and performance of the film,which is of great significance to industrial production,and provides help for the localization of the polarizer protective film.
