With the rapid development of infrastructure construction in China, slope treatment technology is becoming more and more mature, but the importance of some problems in the design of slope treatment scheme needs to be improved, such as the failure mode of slope is not combined with the design, the scheme selection is subjectively affected by the designer, the blindly pursuit of safety and ignore other aspects of demand, these factors may cause the design scheme is not safe or not economical. In this paper, the slope design in the study area is still based on empirical analogy, the lack of in-depth and systematic research is not conducive to saving engineering costs. Therefore,in order to make the slope fully meet the requirements of safety, economy and aesthetics,it is necessary to adopt scientific methods for the selection of support schemes. In this paper,a expansion project in Shenmu City is taken as the background, and the building slope in the proposed project site is taken as the research object. The theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and other research methods are used to systematically study the slope stability, support scheme design and optimization. The finite element strength reduction method is used to analyze the stability of the original artificial slope and the unsupported slope after excavation in the site.On this basis, three supporting schemes are designed combined with the characteristics of common supporting forms, and the effect of reinforcement is simulated. Finally, the optimal scheme is selected by using the value engineering theory and analytic hierarchy process. The results show that the slope stability coefficient after excavation is 0.95,which is in an unstable state. It is necessary to take engineering measures to reinforce the slope after excavation. The south side slope can be supported by double-row piles,single-row piles+prestressed anchor cables and double-row piles+prestressed anchor cables. The slope stability coefficient of the three measures are 1.72,1.44 and 1.98 respectively, which indicates that the designed scheme is effective and reliable. The value coefficient of each scheme is obtained.Scheme 2>scheme 3>scheme 1 shows that the "value" of scheme 2 is the highest when single row pile+prestressed anchor cable support is adopted for the south slope, that is,scheme 2 is the optimal scheme. The final slope support scheme selected in this paper has the advantages of economy and safety, which is not only of great significance to the investors and builders of the slope project, but also can provide some reference for the slope design in the region where the research object is located.
