With the advent of the era of individuation in the 21st century,China's garment industry is entering into a new era of design and creation.From the perspective of the overall environment of the clothing industry,on the one hand,online and offline information is getting symmetrical,and the change of lifestyle enables consumers to take richer,more personalized and diversified requirements toward fashion design.On the other hand,due to the innovation in the market environment,the brand strategy of China's fashion industry has gradually shifted from focusing on clothing production to its own design style.In this context,emerging designers and Chinese fashion brands have become emerging forces in the clothing industry.However,although they have integrated a large number of ethnic culture and elements into their designs,the effects are uneven and have not been recognized by their own people and the international community.Both China and Japan belong to eastern countries,even the cultural development of Japan has been deeply influenced by Chinese culture.Since the 1970s,however,Japanese fashion designer represent a significant force in Europe and the international fashion industry,by combining traditional culture and western tailoring,they have creating a sharper and edgy design,which promotes the spread and the output of traditional Japanese culture,making Japanese culture a representative of “Asian design”in the eyes of the West.Up to now,the influence is still continuing.In this information explosion and trend divaricated 21st century,Japanese designers spring up ceaselessly,they maintain their uniqueness and find a foothold in the fashion industry,not only combined with the national traditional design,but also pay more attention to innovation.This article take the data collection method,literature analysis,case method and designer interview,through the analysis of the national culture and clothing of the two countries,and at the context of the 21st century's unique era,in the clothing design of national elements on the application of comparison,in-depth study of these factors on the impact of modern garment design and inspiration.Through interviews with Chinese original brands and field research of domestic buyer collection store,this paper tries to analyze and understand how Japanese designers extract national cultural elements and present them with perfect expression techniques in modern fashion design while retaining cultural heritage.Meanwhile,this paper tries to explore how domestic designers explore the national language,break through the limitations and bottlenecks in design,so as to promote the innovation of Chinese fashion industry and achieve a long-term development.
