Water pollution of oil products will not only seriously affect the performance of the oil,but also jeopardize the safe operation of the equipment.Using coalescing filtration to remove the water in the oil products is a feasible method to solve the problem.In the process of coalescence separation,the hydrophobic filter material plays a very important role in achieving efficient coalescence and water removal.In this paper,glass fiber is used as the raw material to prepare the hydrophobic glass fiber filter by wet web forming and one-step solution impregnation.Its coalescence and water removal performance is tested,and the factors affecting coalescence and water removal are studied.In this paper,the fiber felt was prepared by the wet-laid process.It was found that when the concentration of the dispersant PEO is 0.008%,the p H of the dispersion is3.0,and the amount of glass fiber added is 3.0g,the fiber felt has the best uniformity.The one-step sol impregnation process was used to bond and hydrophobically modify the fiber felt.The study showed that the concentration of nano-silica was 1.0%,KH550 concentration was 0.1%,PF content was 0.8%,and EP was 1.3%,at the time,the water contact angle and tensile strength of the hydrophobic fiber filter felt in air are the largest,and have good solvent resistance.The comparative test analysis of the prepared hydrophobic glass fiber felt with commercial hydrophobic fiber felt showed that the oil-water separation performance and operational stability of the hydrophobic glass fiber felt prepared in this paper were similar to that of commercial fiber felt,but the filtration pressure drop is nearly 22% lower than that of commercial hydrophobic fiber felt.When the thickness of the filter bed layer is increased from 1.35 mm to 5.40 mm,the filtration efficiency shows a gradual upward trend;when the flow rate of W/O diesel emulsion is lower than 60ml/min,the separation efficiency remains stable,but when the flow rate of emulsion is higher than 60ml/min,the separation efficiency showed a substantial decrease.The self-made hydrophobic fiber felt has good adaptability to the fluctuation of the moisture content of the emulsion.When the moisture content is less than 20,000 ppm,the filtration efficiency is greater than 96%.By using the existing empirical formula to calculate the bed pressure drop and separation efficiency and experimental values are compared and analyzed,the results show that the existing empirical formula is not fully applicable to hydrophobic glass fiber felt.The research results in this paper provide a theoretical basis for the preparation process of hydrophobic filter materials,and have important theoretical significance and application value for solving the problems of low separation efficiency and high filtration pressure drop of fiber wire coalescence filtration equipment.
