| Cork material is the bark of cork oak,which has excellent physical properties of elasticity,anti-slip and wear resistance,noise and vibration reduction,light weight and flame retardant,safe and non-toxic,and is an environmentally friendly and renewable green material.Cork has been used more and more widely in recent years,in furniture design to maximize the excellent properties of cork materials,but at present in the domestic furniture market has not been widely used,children’s cork furniture application research is even less.At the same time,there are many pain points in the children’s furniture market.The application of cork materials in the design of children’s furniture and the full use of its corresponding properties,trying to solve the existing problems in the design of children’s furniture from a material perspective.This paper discusses the characteristics of cork materials,gives examples of the current application situation,explores and summarises the application of cork materials in furniture,conducts research on the children’s furniture market and analyses the behavioural characteristics of children,summarises the needs of children and the main points of children’s furniture design,discusses the necessity and possibility of using cork in children’s furniture from the material perspective,and explores the innovative application of cork in children’s furniture.This project aims at exploring the characteristics of cork material and its application to children’s furniture.The aim of this project is to explore the innovative use of cork in the design of children’s furniture.The design of a cork table and chair for preschool children is based on the physical properties of cork,the real needs of children and the key elements of children’s furniture design. |
