“Shanghaijing” Series Woven Products Design And Craft Creation

The “Shanhaijing” covers a wide range of areas.The animals depicted in the book don't have clear species boundaries and its beautiful but strange landscape has huge differences from the reality.This sort of imaginative way of account endows the thoughts of ancient people with more mysteries.Therefore,the images described in the book have become a source of inspiration for many designers.This paper,by way of combining points and area,tries to illustrate the expression and application of the Classic's patterns and weaving techniques in product design,and how products are innovated by combining the newly created patterns in the Classic after being changed or disassembled and different weaving techniques.The combination of the Classic's patterns which are in line with modern aesthetics and weaving techniques is a preliminary exploration for future further research.The article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter of Introduction mainly explains the background and significance of this research.The second chapter discusses the previous application of the book-related topics and the application of weaving techniques in products respectively.As a major chapter,Chapter Three analyzes and describes the steps one by one from pattern design to weaving.The fourth chapter is the conclusion summarizing this design practice.Combine the elements of the Classic of Mountains and Rivers that conform to modern aesthetics with weaving techniques,and conduct exploration of certain depth;Lay major emphasis on the application of weaving techniques related elements,and on what value the woven craft themed on Shanhaijing will bring;...
